We have been told our Cambodian visa extention applications have been delayed because the Chief of Immigration has passed. Seems public servants can't work. Had our passports for 7 days now. Not impressed.

Went to visa agents office this am. Still no passports. Took guy to Immigration office.  He didn't want to go. When we got there he said we couldn't go inside. He was wrong. We got our passports. The immigration staff said we should have done it ourselves and that tourists are welcome there.

 

There was no room in the taxi to take the agent back to his office.

 

 

Sounds like you had a bad agent.

 

I just did a 1 month visa extension last week, no problems encountered.

While it is true that a very senior government official just died (Sok An), he was not an immigration police official, and there were no government holidays on account of the death.

I get the feeling that it is just as easy to DIY on visas. I got an Indian one in P.P. lat year no problem. The same thing applies in Penang. Just as easy or easier to do it yourself.
