BANGKOK: -- The Central Administrative Court today cancelled the Foreign Ministry's order that revoked the passport of a former Pheu Thai party leader Chaturon Chaisang with reason that the order is illegitimate.

The ruling by the Central Administrative Court came after Chaturon filed a petition to the court in March last year arguing the ministry’s order cancelling his passport is illegitimate and a gross violation of the law.

He named the Foreign Ministry, the Consular Affairs Department, the foreign minister, the permanent secretary, director-general of Consular Affairs Department, the Royal Thai Police and it’s commissioner as defendants in his petition to the court.

Chaturon said in his petition that the cancellation of his passport book “No AA5523514 Lor Vor” with claim that he is among persons on the arrest warrants listing and is banned to leave the country, is illegitimate and gross violation of the law.
