Had my tattoos for nearly three decades now.

 

I'm as fit and healthy as have ever been.

 

No cancer, no side effects, no regrets. 

 

I've  made my choice and no one else has any say in it. 

 

Certainly not going to worry about online quackery groups.

No it's part of the culture.  It's referenced in many of what are considered "sacred texts" on Buddhism and Vedanta.  Nothing to do with marketing a tattoo business.  In fact most if not all of the tattoos were done at no cost by certain monks in the old style of piercing the skin with sharp bamboo and inks.
