It seems that you're running W 10 Pro and just installed an update. No idea if the free version offers what my paid one does.

Go to your Advanced System care Toolbox and click on "System information'. Then you know a lot about your machine.

Or just click settings then "About".

I'm perfectly happy with the Aoemi Advanced System Care Ultimate and it works perfect for me.

CNET, or better users gave a pretty good vote for it. http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-SystemCare-Ultimate/3000-2239_4-75738707.html

Trans, I'm afraid that you can't do the really cool tasks with the free version.

It's W10 Pro, x64......My dosh is required for beer.....:stoner:

Happy for you guys to talk among yourselves, I'm suffering from information overload and my head hurts!

Please click on the link here:https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Then you can choose update on the upper page, or you download the so called "Media Creation Tool."

Another option is to look at the attached image. Good luck.

Then you'll soon receive the 1703. Be aware that it can take 2 hours and more to complete it. The new one is the 1703.

You can also go for it earlier, let's say you experience some problems, or so. Cheers, mate.

I have just looked at 2 of my PC's and they are both on 1607 and the last update was this morning.

No sign of 1703 yet.

Regarding mails and attaching files. Do not use Windows Live Mail. That´s just a crappy product.
You use either Microsoft Outlook or eM Client. Thoose would probably work for you.

Regarding Windows 7, if you do not have it, it will cost you about 10-15 dollar for a license-code. after that you can simply download it anywhere.

Hope that helps!

I think Windows 10 wants to do everything automatically. I too had to do a complete uninstall and reinstall. After the first install, I decided I didn't like some of the automated things and I made a lot of changes not really knowing what I was doing. I finally got it to the point that nothing worked properly. The second complete install, I left everything original and have had no problems since. Left alone, everything including updates are done automatically. Is Windows 10 spying on me? I don't care as long as the program works properly and does what I need it to do. I have found that it is not Windows 10 poaching information from me,  but some of the programs I use. Advertising is BIG business and those applications guilty of spying can be dealt with without altering Windows 10. A really good Internet Security antivirus program is well worth spending a little money for. A price of twenty dollars a year is not breaking my budget. I was able to get that price for Bitdefender Internet Security through a company called Avangate. This is my second year using them.

AFAIK, gmails interface in W10 is the same as it ever was. Does gmail have problems finding where the OP's attachments are or is W10 saving them in places that the OP can't find?

Yes, I use Gmail (usually via Thunderbird) on Windows 10 and have never had a problem with attaching things to emails.

Not sure what the problem is, but it should be curable. If the place you bought the Lenovo from has a service dept., why not ask them to sort it out for you.

The OP has said that he is just a novice and that he would go back to Windows 7 if he could, so maybe I'm being a little bit too simplistic (being somewhat of a novice myself) so why not just install Windows 7 again?

Maybe the installation disk came with his computer last time and it's lurking around somewhere, or even buy one from the Internet because I've seen them available, this when I tried to install Windows 10 on many occasions, with no success, and I thought I might have to do this, especially when the whole computer seemed to go haywire.

The Win 7 disc was used on my laptop, I don't believe I can use it again on another computer.

I was told yesterday by a friend in England that Windows 10 is to be pushed harder, but I don't know the details...maybe some here does. Apparently as of next month anything less than Windows 10 will not have further updates and also various related internet topics will only be available using W.10. Apparently, again,  people who have built the own PC will have more serious problems but I don't know how.

I use Yahoo, Gmail and Outlook as emails on Windows 10/Firefox and have no email problems.

Well I have 5 computers in various states of usefulness, I have been running Ubuntu Linux on all but one machine and have had no problems with the Ubuntu devices they do everything I need EXCEPT run dedicated Windoze software.  I recently bought a new Chinese laptop, which came with Win 10 on it, solely to run the software I need to tune my Harley Davidson motorcycle.  I really only wanted it to do this.  I have done the creators edition upgrade on it and it appears to be up to date.  I agree with a previous poster that it is nothing but spyware and a marketing tool packaged as an operaying system.  It seems Microsoft has taken a page out of Googles book, and the Android operating system.  The thing I don't like about both is that there are things which get installed that you can not get rid of whether you want or need them or not!  It appears that if you "disable" the software and use something else it doesn't like it.  Chrome, Widows Edge come to mind, I use Firefox as my browser, have done for years and am happy with it.I installed Avast free version and it just keeps wanting to sell me the pro version.

I find it VERY intrusive that I can not decide what I do and don't want to install on my computer, and indeed what software I run!  I am fairly computer literate (I have an Associate Diploma in business computing - majoring in data communications), but I don't play around with them much anymore.  Since my transition to Ubuntu I don't have to, no viruses or Malware, and it does what I want!  It's also free as is all the software...

It has always been my belief that computers are tools and you just need it to do what is needed of it.  It is no good giving a carpenter a ball pene hammer he can't pull nails out.  It is no good giving a mechanic a claw hammer he can't make gaskets etc.

Most people just use computers for emails, Skype or Viber or something similar, writing letters, spreadsheets, storing photo's, surfing the net etc.  Well Ubuntu comes with Libre Office (a MS Office clone) Firefox (or Chrome) and Thunderbird (which was written for Linux) the above mentioned communications programs, (there are Windows versions of all of these and they also are free!) and a plethora of software choices!  You can scan and kill viruses on Windows drives and the virus can not infect your Ubuntu Linux machine!

However if you need something like Photo Shop or as in my case specific software for my bike, or other specific and specialised software that the makers don't do a Linux version then you have only one real choice I am afraid.

The only change I made to Ubuntu was I changed the interface from Unity to Gnome as I found it to be more like an older Windows XP machine to look at and use.

In fact years ago I had a coffee shop and got tired of spending all my time at home from the rigs cleaning the computers (that were for public use) up from viruses and such.  So I installed Ubuntu on all the machines and found a script on the net to make it look like XP, NO ONE that ever used the computers knew the difference.  I would come home and see that they had tried to install and run malicious software but it wouldn't work.

I know this is not what a lot of you want to hear and are scared of the transition / learning curve with something new.  Trust me it isn't that great and you wont regret it.

Oh and did I mention IT'S FREE!!  You can run both systems and select which one at boot up if you choose or make a bootable CD and run off that if you want.

Just food for thought, I certainly don't like the way Windows has gone and can see most of you would have prefered to stay with XP or Windows 7 so....  Up to you I guess...  Oh and I believe if you don't upgrade to Win 10 you will be forced to by MicroSoft, the only thing Gates was really good at was marketing and keeping his market share, and I suspect they have been hurt lately by people choosing other alternatives, so this is their answer to their problems, not yours!!

No Trans. All who had a " genuine copy" ( a weird definition, I know) of W 7 were allowed to update to W 10 for free.

Even pirated copies of W 7 and I'm certain most of the software in Thailand is pirated.

All that was neede3d to get the thing show genuine on that particular day.

Free  for you so that you will get the spyware Gates needs to install on your computer to make more money.....

Soon you will not be able to use any other version of Windows, it will not be compatable with the latest software which will continually nag you to upgrade to the latest version, which will ONLY run on Win 10.

Just vote with your feet and let MS know how you feel, why put up with it?

All my woes in LOS were from "copies"....When a genuine W7 was put on my machine from UK all was fine...Got the W10 upgrade...Still OK until one day the machine would not start up..Took it to a shop and it came back with a crap W7...You know the rest of the story..

Some Advice shops in my area ( I guess also in UR) started to put W 10 on but had no idea that their "Activation tool"" didn't  really work for the version 10.

And after only a few days, right after a bigger update, the usual "your program is not activated". That's when they decided to go back to W 8.

Just look at soo many girls, copied noses, breasts, and other parts.....

Skin whitener is everywhere and creates Albinos and monsters.

We're living in a society of copies and one day the copies will replace us.

But that's hopefully when we're already in Nirwana, listening to Nirwana.

P.S. Just imagine: The cops write tickets on pirated software here.

The Immigration is using pirated copy to keep track of us.

The Internet shops are using pirated copies to make good money with kiddies who show up right after school, or even before.

Kids can play various computer games, know plenty of war game command words and the meaning, but can't even say other than <deleted> in English.

George Orwell was damn right and it's really scary to see a bunch of people "eating out", but none is communicating with each other.

They're all too busy to update their facebook page.

And their teachers continue to show them how to upload their photos which are being used by pedophiles all around the world.

Technology, yes. But there has to be something/ somebody who knows when it's time to stop.

We're all too dependent on PC's and notebooks, phones, etc.. that listen to our voice and order junk food for us.

So many phones are bugged with software that enables others to switch the cam, microphone and other stuff on, without the owner knowing it.

Easy to read somebody's e-mails and other very private information.

And there's no light at the end of the tunnel.

You're so right. Once we were so familiar with it, the next catastrophe was invented. W 8, one of the worst programs ever.

I'm just wondering if NASA would use W 10 for their computers to fly to Mars? ( An update could bring them to Jupiter)

Why are all ATM's equipped with Windows XP? Maybe because it's so stable?
