Did you change your password but only do it on the PC? I have done that before.

No. I changed nothing. It works on AIS. So it haves nothing to do with password.

Ping is failing on all the google sites (gmail, blogger, google, youtube) but also apple.com (using Chiang Mai 3bb).  There's an article on Thai Visa News but it's too slow to access.  Was starting to have Apple site issues last night.  I did get a couple successful pings on gmail.com so I suspect it's not a complete block but a bandwidth issue.

Cannot open this link either and no go with Opera VPN.

Giving up, maybe back to normal later.

What's the issue with Opera VPN? Maybe I can help

ping google.com 44 ms (74.125.130.139)

(all in the region. Singapore or Hong Kong?)

(from another thread)

3 hours ago I got the above ping result (I am on ToT fibre).

Now I get:

ping  google.com 8 ms  (203.113.48.55)

8 ms means the response comes from a server in Bangkok.

The 203.. address is registered for ToT.

What does that mean?

Google opening a new "mirror" in Thailand?

Posted (edited)

it just means Google's server in Thailand is up and running and serving results probably from a local copy of the index, but it doesn't say anything about the content delivery networks and google networks.

I am having trouble with a bunch more sites, it looks like content from the USA has trouble to get through, including the icons on this forum. I see no icons at all on thaivisa.com... and no ads either except those not hosted by google... silver lining.

I wonder if this is a worldwide DDOS on google or if some technical fault is to blame.

I can answer my own question: connecting through my PVPN, everything works fine. So it is a Thailand problem.

3BB or another provider higher up might simply have screwed up the routing.

I am on ToT fiber and have no visible/noticeable problem.

Not an ALL Thailand problem.

3BB problem until proofed wrong.

Yes google IP address has changed.  Previously half hour ago DNS pointed to 74.125.68.17 in Chicago, and was blocked, now points to 43.245.144.226 in Bangkok, not blocked

And 43.245.144.226 is a 3BB (TTT) address.

Similar to my observation, address changed to a ToT address in Bangkok.

that's odd, because I just traced the problem to google servers.

a traceroute gets replies from the first couple of servers on google's network and then nothing

Cannot get google mail or you tube- sattahip area. Also cannot even call 3 BBB - call center not working?

If 3BB have a major problem then it would make sense that the call centre is unavailable. Their website (for me on 3BB) is also not responding.

In Chiang Rai we have no internet on 3BB, been like that since Friday afternoon. Website and call centre impossible to contact. Using AIS on my phone for now.
