PHUKET:-- A monitor lizard which was found taking a nap in the bathroom of a property in Kathu was captured and released back into the wild by members of the Khao Yai rescue team on Tuesday.

 

The Khao Yai rescue team, which is apart of Kathu Municipality, received notice about a monitor lizard sleeping in the bathroom of a house in the Sing Thao Thani village, Soi Namtok, Kathu at 11am on Tuesday (May 16).

 

Upon arrival at the property rescue workers were led to the bathroom where they found the monitor lizard measuring 1.65 metres in length and 21 centimeters wide.

There are toilets for men, women, disabled, and some want transgendered ones too.  Now looks like we need one for lizards too.

On the plus side, might keep the number of snakes down. 

 

I wish one would take up residence in my house , magnificent creatures .  My 2 cats prefer the smaller ones , anything Tokay size or bigger would put them in hiding mode.

A very good point, What are the authorities prepared to do in a case like this? We will have to seriously monitor the situation.

I have lizards on my 2nd story ceiling, they climb up via the hollow structure shafts, I had somchai go have a look can't find the hole they climb out from yet. Amazing these lizards are excellent climbers with very powerful feet.
