He's not going to switch parties.

Not the clown potus that banned transgender people from the military, pumped up white supremacists, and nixed DACA.

Yeah, probably not but I wouldn't discount any type of crazy coming from that direction. Seems like he is more willing to strike deals with the Democrats and then just criticize the Republicans. It sure worked out for Nancy and Chuck. It left a number of shock faces on the Republican side.

They could pass health care reform (fixing Obamacare) if they gave up on repealing Obamacare and got all the democratic votes and just a minority of republicans. So yes there is potential with 45 working with the opposition party on specific bills.

Funny I had this thought today before the agreement with the Dems that Trump declare he switched parties.  Not to the Democratic.   What was other  affiliation? From wiki

The orange buffoon will get no votes from Democrats for anything.

I don't agree with you. It's not about the clown. It's about continuing some semblance of functioning government in spite of the clown. There is the majority understanding from both parties (though the republicans understandably can't be so vocal about it) that trump knows nothing about policy and as much responsibility as possible needs to be seized by anyone other than the president. The democrats will be doing themselves no favors if they don't support sensible legislation during this dark time in American history. It was the republicans that were horribly reckless for accepting trump. The democrats are the adults and eventually that should pay off by returning them to power.

I think after agreeing to Nancy & Chuck's debt ceiling proposal today there is much impeachment talk among congressional Republicans tonight.

Get a look at Chuck Schumer's face as he announces this deal. He could barely retrain his glee. Mrs. T said he looked like the cat that swallowed the canary. I said he looked more like the canary that swallowed the cat!

Facebook says likely Russian-based operation funded U.S. ads with political message

"SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Facebook Inc said on Wednesday it had found that an operation likely based in Russia spent $100,000 on thousands of U.S. ads promoting divisive social and political messages in a two-year-period through May."

"Facebook, the dominant social media network, said 3,000 ads and 470 “inauthentic” accounts and pages spread polarizing views on topics including immigration, race and gay rights."

"Facebook briefed members of both the Senate and House of Representatives intelligence committees on Wednesday about the suspected Russia advertising, according to a congressional source familiar with the matter."

American politics and social issues are vastly different, if not alien or antithetical, to Russian culture and society. The question might be whether members and/or "associates" of the Trump campaign guided Russian trolls to areas of potential divisiveness that would damage Clinton's campaign.

During the campaign, the Trump campaign ran up to 50,000 variants of its Facebook ads a day, learning which ones resonated best with voters. It also deployed so-called “dark posts,” non-public paid posts that only appear in the News Feeds of the people the advertiser chooses. https://www.wired.com/story/trump-russia-data-parscale-facebook/

Well, I am glad someone has a firm grip and understanding of current political strategies. Well done

Senior Advisor and Chief of Digital Operations, Jared Kushner, may have some answers... :whistling:

Trump-Russia investigators probe Jared Kushner-run digital operation

"Investigators at the House and Senate Intelligence committees and the Justice Department are examining whether the Trump campaign’s digital operation — overseen by Jared Kushner — helped guide Russia’s sophisticated voter targeting and fake news attacks on Hillary Clinton in 2016."

"Congressional and Justice Department investigators are focusing on whether President Donald Trump’s campaign pointed Russian cyber operatives to certain voting jurisdictions in key states — areas where Trump’s digital team and Republican operatives were spotting unexpected weakness in voter support for Hillary Clinton, according to several people familiar with the parallel inquiries."

"By Election Day, an automated Kremlin cyberattack of unprecedented scale and sophistication had delivered critical and phony news about the Democratic presidential nominee to the Twitter and Facebook accounts of millions of voters, many in swing states, even in key precincts."

I don't think most democrats want trump impeached. Keeping him helps their chances greatly in 18 and 20. An incumbent Pence would be more formidable. Of course trump still might get impeached depending on the severity of the smoking guns to come.

I do not know any democrats, or anyone for that matter that do not want to see Trump impeached.

Pence will go to jail with him...

The last thing the world needs is another slow, painful and destructive weakening of the US by impeachment of the elected leader.

Maybe just a quiet withdrawal and maybe just a little bit of stability. Maybe some politicians determined to focus on the real issues.

Na, I was just joking. As if that would ever happen

Since Trump won by a mere 78,000 votes across three states, the Facebook campaign would only have had to influence 39,000 voters to vote for Trump rather than Hillary, or convince 78,000 potential Hillary voters to stay home or vote third party, or some combination of those.

When you add the other efforts: hacking and releasing DNC emails, then Podesta's emails, RT and Sputnik news reporting and possibly other efforts, it is no longer so speculative to say that the Russians put the deciding thumb on the scale.

Add to that Comey's letter and the many Republican vote suppression efforts throughout the country, it seems this election was indeed stolen.

Even if there wasn't collusion, that's a bitter pill to swallow, and I think, explains the surprising forthrightness in HRC upcoming book, "What Happened"

I feel she would have preferred to name it "What The F* Happened"

"Anyone for that matter". Truly, you sometimes make posts that are just a tad exaggerated.

Trump still has almost 40% of US citizen support. Despite ludicrous posts by POTUS, that

support still remains. You have constantly made posts that POTUS will be impeached any day now.

You do not understand the slow wheels of justice (if there is any). If you think billions of

dollars of US agencies "intel" could not have intervened before now, you may need to take an aspirin.

In the end it will come down to money and power and who is on the receiving end.

But he probably won't.

Yes emotionally most Americans would like to see him gone but the hard reality is that might not be the best outcome in the long run as far as crushing his despicable movement. Counterintuitive perhaps.

Is it just me or have the Trump haters switched to 'lets leave him in office' tactics, and are no longer demanding immediate impeachment??

I think they believe that in 2018 the Dems will win back the House/Senate, and the POTUS in 2010.

Got news for you guys - you are as wrong about that as you all were leading up to the election in November 2016 (glorious glorious day it was).  But if it makes it any easier to take this approach, then by all means go right ahead believing. I look forward to all the liberal tears when Trump is re-elected in 2020, with the Reps in line and behind him (and the RINOs voted out).

You guys use terms to try to categorize what each other's  beliefs are but dies anyone know what Trump stands for besides greed and self promotion?  It's sad we have these divisive labels.   Perhaps if we talk about issues we are not that different in mind.

Is it wrong for a spouse to support their partner after a sexual indescretion?

I believe we are all being distracted by the rich elite, Russian, Chinese, or any nationality.  But is our SS & health care going to be there when we need it?

No Pardoning This Offense

"If Trump fires Mueller and his team, state attorneys general and state prosecutors can hire them."

"If Trump succeeds in pardoning the defendants or himself, state prosecutors can step in without violating the rule against double jeopardy because of the legal concept of “dual sovereignty”: States and the federal government have overlapping but separate sovereignty, and each can bring its own prosecutions for the same acts as long as those acts violate both federal and state laws."

"One major recent development is that Mueller and New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman are talking and cooperating in their investigations."

They'll get him on his home turf: New York.

Gloriously poetic.

Facebook sold ads to fake accounts linked to Russian 'troll factory' during the US election

"In 2015, the ABC's 7.30 program looked into these internet trolls,

a workforce of hundreds that patrol the internet at the command of the Kremlin."

"The department at the centre of this effort is officially known as the Internet Research Agency,

otherwise known as the Troll Factory."

"Generally, they produce lies in a 24-hour regime, seven days a week," said Andrei Soshnikov,

the investigative journalist who has led the efforts to expose the Troll Factory said at the time."

Yes!!! One more nail in the coffin!!!!

It might be best to remove this rogue through impeachment than wait until 2020.  If he loses the election, he'll cry "rigged" and won't acknowledge the results.  He'll think nothing of starting a civil war and burning the US to the ground to save himself.  The US has as much to worry about with this swine as they do with Kim of North Korea.

It does not matter about any numbers or percentages. If you think US intel does not already know you need to take an aspirin. Then you need to think why intel is not making waves. Then you need to think why the time lag between fact and the main US enforcement agencies to act or even make a sort of bubble. You and the rest of the world have no say in it. It is all blubber and nothing including you can change it. You are part of your democracy, and it has overtaken your morals.  There will be some candied result. Just part of US democracy, freedom ad nausea
