BANGKOK: -- Well-known entertainer Pakorn “Dome” Lam has promised to present himself to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) officials this coming week to clarify the procurement of his Lamborghini sports car which was recently impounded by the DSI.

The super car which was put on sale at a car showroom raided by DSI officials last week was found to be one of the 42 cars stolen in Britain by carjacking gang as reported by Britain’s National Vehicle Intelligence Service.

Dome wrote in his Facebook page that he had prepared documents regarding registration and purchase of the luxurious car a receipt of his payment from the car dealer and would personally present himself to make clarification with DSI officials without have to wait for a summons from the officials.

Oh, great. I can't wait to see all the press and police lining up to greet him as he turns up at the police station at his leisure. Lots of cameras flashing and smiling that will lead to no charges, but will be a great ego boost for the police.

He may have bought the car legally, but if the car is stolen it will be

have to be confiscated,

he will than have to sue the sellers and good luck to him with that,

It is going to be interesting to see how many other celebrities are found to be driving stolen cars, as this scheme has obviously been going for some time.

paying for the car and registering it are not the issues; the root issue is that the car is stolen property; it should be impounded and he should sue the seller

This can be but not must be.

If the paid price is a market price it can be that the sale is accepted. The original owner got for sure a compensation from his insurance and the insurance must  take the money back from the (stolen car) dealer.

Some countries handle it on this way.

I am sure the REAL owners will want their property returned to them!

Should be very interesting!

Are they going to return the insurance payouts ?

Very few of these hiso entertainment heartthrob knobs pay any tax as it is and then want under the counter deals to avoid VAT as well. Little wonder the country can barely afford a living wage for teachers and nurses.

6 months in jail will wipe the smile off this rotter.

I think an earlier poster wished him good luck on that one.

Good for him. He'll either get his Lambo or his money back. I'd be smiling too.

Hmm I wonder. He may have to present yet another payment in a brown envelope to make any progress in this direction. It could move his vehicle from the stolen column to the other column.

Entertainer ‘Dome’ did not buy stolen Lamborghini: DSI
By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- A Lamborghini owned by actor and singer Pakorn "Dome" Lam was not stolen from Britain and sent to Thailand, Department of Investigation (DSI) chief Pol Colonel Paisit Wongmuang announced to the press on Monday.

Pakorn's car body and engine numbers did not match the stolen vehicle of the same model and colour that the DSI is looking for, added DSI deputy chief Lt-Colonel Korrawat Panprapakorn.

After Paisit and Korrawat asked Pakorn to allow the DSI to inspect his car and the accompanying documentation to confirm that, the entertainer contacted the agency to say he will cooperate with investigators, the DSI said.

Paisit and Korrawat also told investigators to check if Pakorn's car was imported legally.

Because if it were not, Paisit said the company that imported it would be held responsible and Pakorn would be the damaged party.

The DSI's raids on car dealerships and other locations on May 18 and 24 resulted in 160 cars being impounded for further probes over allegations of tax evasion that had cost the country Bt3 billion in lost revenue.

Ten cars stolen from Britain were found among the 160 cars including six parked at dealerships.

Three other cars had been sold and one was found at the Customs Department’s Duty-Free Zone.

The DSI is looking for the remaining 32 stolen cars, with it obtaining information about 10 of them, it was reported.

Who's is it then? the latest news is that this is not one of the stolen vehicles and was purchased legally, tax paid...

No outstanding issues...  Nothing more to discuss... Well, apart from those with huge chips on their shoulder and their venomous comments (jealously) against wealthy, handsome, popular guys with sports cars !...

I thought about that.  But it doesn't seem reasonable that only 42 cars were stolen in the UK.  Even 42 luxury cars sounds a little light.  Maybe it's 42 super cars stolen by that one carjacking gang?

That's the danger of ambiguous reporting...

To be honest Iam a bit jealous as I'd love to be a young heart throb with plenty of money. The thought of supercars and pretty young ladies throwing them at you makes me giddy, and I do not beleive ive posted anything venomous in this matter.

Must admit it does seem odd that the story changed after he showed up with paperwork as surely they could have pulled up the numberplate on the computer screen to establish the vin number of the vehicle  and the authenticy of the import paperwork.
