Guy's --Ladies hair conditioner....will give you the closest shave ever, & if your married it wont cost you a cent.....really try it....................:coffee1:

the extreme cost of razors has created a black market , just think how many razor cartridges would it take to fill up a suitcase ?  maybe a ka-jillion ?  fill it up with all the mach's , gliders ,3 , 4 , 5 bladed razors  and razor packs . if bought at sams or a big box store by the case they are sooo very cheap . a 200% mark up and you still could sell for half the price in this hairless Thailand . just a thought .....

As mentioned here, Barbasol in the big fat can (from Tesco Lotus) at around 140-150 baht is the one.  You will get at least 3 1/2 months out of it, possibly even four.

This or a no-name stuff at Big C.

But the Barbasol from Tesco comes cheaper.

Tesco also had(has?) "BIC" cartridges (three blades).

(yes same brand as the ballpens)

3 cartridges plus handle for 99 Baht.

It might not last as long as a Mach3 but still much cheaper.

I use such for a while now.

Packaging similar to Tesco's:

Great tip.

I'm going to give that a try because I too use a 5-blade razor with lubricating strip and they aren't cheap.

Gillette Fusion Proglide Blade 4pcs packs are 755 baht each at Tesco-Lotus.

The lubricating strip will over saturate if you keep the blade submerged.  If that becomes irritating you can just give your blades a spritz with the solution after use and let them air dry to prevent losing your lube strip.

Seems that only both of us have considered using different razor blades & products to shave our face from another body part eg. pubes/bumhole (not that I shave it lol). Everyone else seems to use the same razor blades & products wherever they shave...:shock1::shock1::shock1:

Yep. My missus uses mine in other places that I would prefer she didn't but she gets an amazing smooth shave.

As one poster has said, try using hair conditioner as shave cream it works fine. But, if you are a 'visual' rather than a 'touch' shaver it does not shown up white on the face so gauging where you have shaved is not so obvious. As with any shave, preparation is important. Wash you face twice in hot water using toilet soap before applying your chosen shave cream/gel/conditioner.

I have used soap/foam/gels before but for several years I have used shaving oils.

No need to wash anything off after shaving and the oil is good for the skin (softness).

Also, for electric shavers, the oil lubricates the cutters and prolongs their life.

I use "King of Shave" oils available from UK supermarkets and Amazon online everywhere in Europe.

Normally I use their oils in conjunction with a top model Panasonic wet/dry shaver (ES-LV65) or a multi blade manual razor.

Try it, it works for me!

The shaving foam I use is Barbasol.... usually available in Villa. Great stuff and very economical as it is so thick and creamy you don't use very much. About 150thb for a pint can. I normally buy 3 cams at a time and they last me a good 5 months.  As for razors I buy them in 7-11, its a 2 blade disposable with a grey handle. 2 in a pack.

Agree , Barbasol is top value and also available at Tesco Lotus . I do not get on well with the expensive modern razors and prefer the disposable type which I bring from The UK  ( bic disposable razors excellent ) as the ones I used to buy at a local Thai pharmacy were discontinued so I will look out for razors in 7--11 .  There are also many fake expensive type razors on the open market and you will know they are fake when you have a shave .

I just wish there was a simple way of removing ear and nasal hair that seem to appear from nowhere and grow quickly . Spent too much time ear / nose  plucking with tweezers and not easy to get the little buggers .

Tops in Chiang Mai have a generic brand shaver. It is called "My Choice" and comes in an orange blister packaging. The cartridges have a lubricating strip plus 5 blades, which are super sharp and last a long time. Far better quality than Gillette. Really high quality at half the cost of the Gillette equivalent. (Actually, Gillette’s quality is poor these days and its prices are exorbitant.)

As for the “My Choice” brand, last time I looked Tops did have stock of the razor but it seems they ran out of the replacement cartridges. I still have enough stock for a year or so but I will buy more as soon as they are available again.
