If your daughter has a British passport, she's British. All cultures evolve. Multi-culturalism is as British as our old Empire was.

She has a British passport. Is she British?

You clearly don't understand so just leave it

Yes clearly policing has been undermined by May

BUT I believe citizens will need to take more of the burden. Remember neighbourhood watch? We need more of that with a Muslim curfew. Between sundown and sun up, we don't want these people on the street.

Back to the London butchers ( so much for Halal slaughter BTW) the video shows we should demolish their gym. I would also demolish their "mosque".

Maybe there are a few elderly white southern americans who are still spry enough to show you the proper way to be volunteer agents for justice.

Utter nonsense

The British have had enough of these people. There WILL be a backlash. We don't need any American help I promise you.

enhanced police presence on the streets.

Pity May got rid of all those cops then! Perhaps they are all just sitting around waiting for the call, but I doubt it.

Also a pity the cops stopped walking the beat too. They knew what was going on in their "manor".

Perhaps we are all deserving of what happened because we let it happen by not holding the politicians to account.

Doubt that's coming back, at least not full steam. More likely in high visibility spots, perhaps some checkpoints, roadblocks, cars flashing their lights etc. Better than nothing, perhaps, but less than what many hope for.

Allow me not to share the new version of the guilt trip. Be it pointing fingers at voters or "the West". Politicians are what they are. At least most of them. That's one of the least enticing parts of democracy. I hope no one is under the illusion that had there been police officers walking the streets this wouldn't have happened, or that if another government was in place things would be fundamentally different.

It does seem from studies done in the states that community policing is not more effective than other modes.

Laugh if you like

But we British have had ENOUGH.

There will be a backlash and it will not be pleasant.

We extended friendship and it has been spat on by Muslims.

Watch what happens....

I laugh because your reply very much reminded me of a former poster. Also a grumpy Brit, with the same line as last ditch argument.

Here's a reality check - you do not speak for all of the "British". Rather obvious there are many who do not share your point of view, while still being certified British according to your unclear standards. Further, doubtful that you will partake in any such imaginary backlash, and so, your words are merely those of a keyboard warrior. Oh, there might be incidents, that's for sure. But a "tsunami size backlash" is your fantasy, and hopefully will stay this way.

Not party to seeing all Muslims as spitting on you. Could be raining.

It's not a question of safety, but of making the public feel safe(r). The things which need to be done in order to provide a higher level of safety are not necessarily high-visibility.

While you lot are going back and forth arguing over whether people are British or not, maybe take a thought beyond a tag of nationality whether by birthright or naturalisation.
The issue that no one in politics seems willing to address is the cultural aspect of being British. Politicians have been so busy espousing the concept of multiculturalism, the concept of British culture has been left somewhere behind. If arrivals to the UK truly integrated I don't think there would have been a problem. But here we have a culture that mostly is the antithesis of what is British and has not integrated. Not only that, but parts of that culture have declared themselves at war with the host country. Until those in power can decide whether the British culture is worth standing up for then the problem will persist; even then they will have a problem dealing with it as it has got to such an advanced stage.

Good points. 100% correct.

I am not grumpy, I am angry

I go to UK later this month and will hook up with some old friends.

I promise you , there will be retribution

There needs to be a Muslim curfew from sun down to sun up.

Police will not be required to enforce this

There is a boycott of all shops and restaurants dealing with Halal meat. These people can keep their dirty, inhumane practices in their medieval countries.

But you know, this being an internet forum, anyone can "promise" anything. Some "promise" more often than others.

Allow me to doubt you'll do anything but rant with your friends. And you'll be civil to them not too ISIS-looking Muslims as well.

There will be no curfew. There is no boycott.

I've already explained it to you once. No need to be obtuse. Facts are facts, even if they do fit in with your rather bigoted view of what constitutes being British.

If he was from Heckmonwike Dave, he will know more about Muslims than the average joe, and would it be fair to say that his knowledge of Muslims is first hand and not a perception?

I dont know how old you are, but did you know that 'Panther' motorcycles  were in Heckmondwike? They were a hand made bike, and my dad had a Panther 650 com. We came all the way from London for them to fix an electrical problem. Their 'factory was a Nissan hut in the high street.Wonderful bikes made in prehistoric conditions.

You are correct about the best beer in the world (Timothy Taylors), but a lot of our great public houses are now curry houses and the like. I was raised in a West Yorkshire mill town, so my views are not perceptions either. Are you an offcumdem?

You mean like all the heroic Britons in that pub who bravely fled and left that lone Millwall fan to do battle?

So you finally show your colours?  Yellow, green and..... puce, I think I can see.

You have no idea who else was in the pub.  Male, female, Briton or tourist.  You are just making yourself look the fool you clearly are.

You are also obviously not British as, if you were, you'd know that this is a typical reaction of a committed football fan in the face of aggression after four pints!

I'm glad he was singled out for his heroics.  On a match day he might have been labelled a thug,

Good for him.  If it ever does kick off in the UK between the Muslim rabble and the Brits, guys like him will be in the vanguard.

"Roy Larner, 47, was with pals in a pub when they burst in, attacking revellers with 12in blades and chanting “Islam, Islam!” and “This is for Allah”.

And I'll put up with a lot but being told that one of my colors is puce is going too far.

Explain offcumdem? it sounds like an insult, be prepared to see my seconds in the morning.

Seriously, i worked in Leeds for a few years, i refurbed the Dragonara hotel and designed the public areas in the Stakis casino, when it was next door.Loved Yorkshire, my mum was evacuated to Ilkley During the war.She lived with the then family in the 'cow and calf hotel'

I took her back there 6 months before she died. The Yorkshire moors are beautiful  to behold, in the September morning, with the mist rising from them. I was one of the Engineer's who redesigned the 18th century drainage system in Leeds..Yorkshire is also very famous for its copper, internal solder ring, capillary fittings.
