PHITSANULOK: -- Administrative officials inspected the damage at Wat Wang Pikul School in Phitsanulok’s Wang Thong district after a century-old Bodhi tree fell onto the school building during a rainstorm early Wednesday morning.

The building’s roof caved in and the left wing of the building collapsed, making Prathom 3 and Kindergarten 1 classrooms unusable.

The large tree, which was split in two before falling, was sawed into smaller pieces for disposal.

The tree fell at around 1am, village headman Amnuay Yoorod said, adding that classes will be held in library until repairs are carried out.
