Transposed function on my computer- how to change back please?

I know there is a way to change it back, but I can't find it.

I get @ when I use the "  and " when I use the @

I get £ when I want the hash sign.

You need to change the keyboard to US English, sounds like it is set to UK English. Tell me what OS you are using and will be able to give more precise instructions.

As @tprender mentions, sound like you've switch to a different keyboard layout (English UK vs English US), or regional settings.

 

Some people have multiple keyboard layouts loaded on their OS to switch between regional or language sets and use a keyboard shortcut such as {Shift}+{Alt} to rotate through the available layouts while typing.

Look for 'ENG' in the lower right corner and click it. Change it to US.
