Son shoots his father then himself in Hat Yai
By The Nation

HAT YAI: -- A man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he shot and severely wounded his 61-year-old father late Monday night following dispute over the raising of a pit bull terrier, police said.

Hat Yai Police Station was alerted to the shooting incident, at a five-storey townhouse in Hat Yai district in Songkhla, at about 11pm.

Police said Watchara Cholphakdee, 30, died at the scene of a gunshot wound to the chest. An 11-millimetre-calibre pistol was found beside him.

When medics arrived at the scene, they found Ampol Cholphakdee, Watchara’s father, lying with a gunshot wounds to the head and the neck. A bullet had pierced his neck and hit his left eyebrow.

He was rushed to Songlanagarind Hospital.

Other residents of the house told police that the two men had quarrelled after the father disagreed with Watchara’s plan to raise a pit bull terrier.

During the dispute, the son removed his gun from a drawer and shot the father and turned the weapon on himself, they told police.

When medics and police arrived at the scene, the dog was beside the younger man’s body.

The dog had to be tied up out of fear it would attack medics and police.

Is anybody surprised Dad didn't want his son to have a pit bull?

Goes to show that having pet dogs may be better than having children...

Two lives lost over an animal. Pretty sad. Sounds like a spoiled son who did not get

his way, so got to get his gun and kill.

The dog was just an excuse that ignited deeper pathological issues within the boy...sad, as there are two  people dead here!!

RIP to both...

(get clinical diagnoses and medical help before your mind gets fully <deleted>*d up....and  it's too late)

Apparently not. Unless father died of his injury in the ICU at Songklanagarind Hospital overnight..
