Mission Hospital Phuket

Featured Replies

Well the time is nearly here for the birth of my son :o

Any one with opinions of the quality of care for the birth at Mission in Phuket ?

thx in advance

Venerable son was born there last April. The hospital is ok. We got a private room, 3 days, natural birth, for like 11k. Luckily my social insurance paid for all of it. It is the only thing they pay if wife does not have a social insurance card.

Her water broke at about 1 am and we made it to the horsepital.

Anyway, the hospital. The birthing room was full with women in a lot of pain. However, they do not allow the husband to go in. I was shocked, as I followed Poo into the room itself and I was stopped.

Once the baby came out, the girls at the window made sure I saw him. His middle finger was showing! Definitively my son!!! Whenever I came by the window, the girls automatically either pointed me to him or brought him up to the window.

Doctor. a$$hole. He comes out after the birth, looks at me and walks away. I scream "arai wa"?. He speaks good English. Is my wife ok baby ok? He stops and turns around and says yes, then walks away.

Room. Private room, why not. The sheets changed all the time, they brought the baby during feeding time or any time we asked. THERE IS NO SOAP, toilet paper. Bring your own. Beats the hel_l outta me why not. Food sucks.

If you need further info, pm me your mobi.

funny reading that about Mission cos thats where we had planned for the birth of our baby. got lost on the way the first time for a check up and went to Vachira instead.

Very good care so I suppose it was lucky getting lost!
