Can I order 20 computers from overseas ?

Recommended Posts

That's just ebay invoicing you money "in case". The customs duty on computers is 0%, you still need to pay 7% VAT and handling fees, storage fees, broker fees and VAT on transportation. Request the full invoice from customs and it should be 0% duty.

Of course you can import 20 computers on your own name. No need for a company or a work permit, customs won't ask. You need to be registered with customs, using your passport and your address.

8471.411000

- - - Personal computers excluding portable computers of subheading 8471.30

Import duty 0%, VAT 7%.

Whether the RD asks later on what you do with it, is another questions.

pm function not working for me.Can you send me a pm and i'll see if I can reply. Thanks

It is idiotic that you would import computers for crypto farming from overseas.

What about maintenance and warranties?

There is an abundance of affordable computer components available in Fortune Town.

You can get them assembled and built for cheaper locally, is there a specific reason you don't want to do this?

Not so idiotic because like most miners they are in it to make money, so you don't use everyday consumer parts like you find in most Thai stores. You need high end graphics cards,  power supplies, specialist cases/frames etc. that can stand up to 24/7 use, While everyday parts might be similarly priced to the US, high end stuff isn't. The few stores that sell high end components do so at prices that can be 50-100% more expensive than the US. Setting up 30 such computers and it's obvious why they are importing them.

Don't worry, the problem  is you can't have a technical conversation about advanced topics on Thaivisa...

It would be easier to teach a monkey how to fly a spaceship, see the other bitcoin threads for reference over the past several years....

The best sentence is probably "You can explain it to them, but you can't understand it for them

Every importer and exporter must be registered with the customs' "paperless" system, as they need to know who the importer or exporter is. This kind of registration is not unique to Thailand.

Whoever does the customs clearance for you, can register you within a couple of hours, maximum one day. They need a copy of your passport and your current address. If you want to do it yourself, call the customs department at 1164, but I do suggest to let the customs broker do it.

I can start talking about ins-and-outs of ASIC-based processing,  but I think it's best you stay seated on the bar stool.

Obviously you don't have a clue  as your previous post indicated and now you're trying to make up for it with "bar stool comments"...

Wind yer neck in.... :passifier:
