90 days report - fined in the grace period?

There is no 60 day reporting.

As far as I am aware all offices provide a receipt for 90 day reports.

At Phuket they have always made a point, with me anyway, to indicate clearly when my next

90 day report is due.

In my desk drawer is my PP. Within the PP is the receipt for my last 90 day report. The date of the next report is clearly indicated on the receipt.

seriosly ? i thought the fine was capped at 2000

You need google translation, as the give only a thai version. Which makes me think they are out to collect money. Look at the bottom of the page where they say 2000 if you report yourself and 4000 if you get arrested.

I think that page is in error.  No one has ever been arrested for failing to make a 90 day report.

But the immigration act sets the max fine at 5000 baht. The 2000 baht is only a standard fine set by immigration. Not sure where they came up with the 4000 baht number.

The Bangkok immigration website still has it in English. http://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/base.php?page=90days

really really....the day they put up for sale a 10 year visa say for US$ 50'000,-- that stops all this periodical reporting....it will be a blast!!..

The 90 day reporting is not waived for that scheme.  It clearly states in the order for it that 90 day reporting is till required.

"This is Tuesday, three working days late and I am allowed up to 5 working days late."

This is a direct quote from your post Deerhunter.

Exactly!  I said nothing about working days DURING THE 90 days!

So why did you mention working days and not calendar days after the 90 days, then?

My excuse is brainfade while writing my post.  A month ago when it happened, I had been just totally focused on how many actual working days I had to do it in before I was over the 7 days grace period.  We had to go to N.W., to P'lok and Nakhon Sawan at short notice to help friends with a property deal for the whole week and that meant we could not do at all it in the week it was meant to be done. It was due on the Thursday of that week.  We got back Saturday night and my wife had business appointments on the Monday.   I had a very strong hunch or premonition that they were going to be awkward though they never had been anything but helpful, before, so I check-counted the 90 days on the calendar no less than THREE times.  I was so really anticipating strife that I told my wife we were absolutely NOT going to leave it til the next Thursday, the last day.  Monday was already out for business reasons (and we only have one car) so, that left Tuesday & Wednesday and I did not even want to do it on the Wednesday.  After hitting send and the edit option had expired, I realized what I had written about working days in the grace period and had another "hunch" that some very clever and helpful TV immigration experts would correct me on that point.  Ubon Joe of course did!  I was un-surprised!

BTW, I was so anticipating there was going to be problems that I started smiling when the Civvy guy first told me there was a 2,000 baht fine to pay.   I thought, "I am just so ready for you, Buster.  Bring it on."   For those who might be tempted to ask, YES, I do have strong hunches sometimes that for no logical reason, turn out to be true.   And NO they never express themselves in lotto numbers.

Fair enough, we all have our senior moments! However, I only hope that no-one whose next report is due on Friday will infer from what you said that they will have until a week next Monday to trot along to their immigration office (i.e. 5 working days from their due date allowing for the fact that next Monday and Tuesday are substitution holidays for the Asalha Bucha and Khao Pansa days on Saturday and Sunday respectively). If they were to leave their immigration office trip to what they thought was the last minute they would probably not take too kindly to being informed that they had missed the reporting window by 4 (calendar) days and fined 2,000 THB accordingly!:passifier:

Well spotted.  I never thought of that possibility.  that would be an expensive mistake to make.   Rule #1.  Never take aas gospel anything important you see on TVF unless it comes from a GM or a specialist like Joe or Sheryll.  Even from someone usually as infallible as "Pope" Deerhunter. 555
