BANGKOK: -- Twenty men and women from Uganda, Tanzania and Ethiopia were arrested in Bangkok on Friday on suspicion of selling illegal drugs.

Immigration, drug squad and Makkasan district police raided the I House condominium on Rama IX Road at 9am and made the arrests.

Immigration Police Bureau Commissioner Lt Gen Natthaporn Praosunthorn said an Ethiopian was the leader of what he described as a drug-peddling gang.

Natthaporn said an undercover police officer had determined that the group was selling drugs.

Another group of 20 people from African countries had earlier been arrested in Bangkok on the same charge, he noted.

He said the Immigration Bureau, which has a policy of “Good guys in, bad guys out”, would accelerate its crackdown on foreign criminals.

And what about all these French speaking African tossers around Lower Sukhumvit, who hang around all day and all night, saying "how are you?" to selected random foreigners, obviously up to no good, and what's more blocking me from getting home fast with my shopping in the bloody pouring rain.

Eh, answer me that!

I bet the Thai undercover copper blended in well with the Ugandans, Tanzanian and Ethiopian dealers. Sound like BS to me

You do realise he was probably undercover as a customer.

given how obviously they have been plying their trade,  the only surprising thing is it hasn't happened earlier or with more regularity.

Couldn't. Agree. MORE. Also the aggressive African prostitutes who grab you and follow you for a whole block when it's OBVIOUS you were never interested (avoided eye contact, walked on far side of pavement).

They will pay their 20 to 50k "fine" and be back on the streets tomorrow. Those who cannot raise the entry fee will go into pokey and do one to two years (+/-) then be back on the street not having been deported.

What have these here guys got that the whitey doesn't?
