Army defends pace of military reform in line with social changes

By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Army spokesperson Colonel Winthai Suvaree has responded to calls for military reform, saying that the military has been adjusting over time to be in line with social changes.

So far, it has received positive feedback, especially when it has engaged more in developments, Winthai added.

He urged people not to politicise the issue, as calls for reform were mostly from those who had lost benefits following military operations.

“Overall, it’s not a worry yet,” said Winthai.

I beg to differ!

The damage done to Thailand in terms of human rights, the rule of law, personal freedom, the economy, etc. by the military is quite serious indeed.

It IS a worry.

5555 Yes, I agree, but I think he meant it is not a worry to THEM.
