Nico Papke, who is receiving treatment for his injuries at a hospital, is now charged with pre-meditated murder and hiding the corpse of his girlfriend Picha Nampadung to cover up his alleged crime. The two had moved in together just a little over a month ago. Witnesses told police the couple used to quarrel often because Papke was possessive. “Our ongoing investigation shows that Picha disappeared after she told him she wanted to break up,” Chalong Police Station deputy superintendent Pol Lt-Colonel Somsak Sopakarn said yesterday. According to police, the couple had a big fight on June 30 and Picha was last seen alive on July 1. Her body was found on Sunday, prompting officials to launch a manhunt for Papke who slit his own throat upon facing police later in the day. As I understand it if he pleads guilty his sentence halved = 10 years = out in 5 years with some of that time in a German jail, which are 4 star compared with any Thai jail. Yep. As in other cases. After some years in Thai prison handed over to the Germans. They count one year in Thai prison as three years in the German 4star accommodation. 5 years in Thai prison = 15 years in German prison. He might walk free before reaching the mid 40s. A horrible example how an unprepared newbie can fail in Thailand (not fall/jump in this case). Some sources say he came here in December 2016, others say "less than a year". And for the perfect murder: don't rent a car in Thailand About the 3rd or 4th case I remember where the corpse was found using GPS tracking data.
