PM hears progress of national reform plan

 

 

BANGKOK, 13 July 2017 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has convened a meeting to follow up on the progress of implementing the national reform plan while stressing the need for the plan to go hand in hand with the national strategy. 

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the meeting with the committee on preparations for national reform, with several Cabinet members, representatives of related agencies and Speaker of the National Reform Steering Assembly Capt Tinnapan Nakata also present. 

In his address to the attendants, Gen Prayut emphasized the importance of pushing forward the national reform plan in conformity with all six areas of focus of the 20-year national strategy.

 

He insisted that the reform plan must be executed in a continuous and timely manner in order to pave the way for tangible outcomes that would lead the country towards stability, prosperity and sustainability in line with the United Nations’ sustainable development guidelines and the sufficiency economy philosophy of His Majesty the late King. 

On this occasion, the participants had an opportunity to exchange information regarding their preparations for national reform in 15 areas. The meeting was convened prior to the end of term of the incumbent members of the National Reform Steering Assembly this July 31.

A plan is only a dream until someone actually does something. Therein lies the problem.

My ex Thai gf was an English teacher at a vocational high school. She spoke excellent English and was dedicated in her job. But she got paid little and unfortunately was below the line that was drawn where senior teachers were included in the Director's distribution list.  The best she ever got was to go on a few holiday jaunts paid out of the slush fund.

christ. like i said before, talk about reform is just a way to delay reform. think we have all heard enough talk about reform for it to be forgotten about till the next coup.
