Fined for a dripping air con? Phuket police say it was just a "miscommunication"

PHUKET: -- Phuket police have moved to quell an online drama after a traffic cop was allegedly filmed fining a man for having a dripping air-con on his car.

The video widely shared and commented upon online was filmed at the Cherng Thalee intersection on the southern Thai island.

The poster of the clip on Facebook was adamant that his friend was fined for having a dripping air-con and the policeman writing the ticket was fining him for just that.

But Daily News Online went to the head of the local police for clarification and were told that there was no such fine for dripping air-cons.

It was all some "miscommunication" and was probably a fine for not securing goods properly.

The chief explained there was a lot of traffic at that intersection and his men have to ensure safety as stuff on the roads could cause accidents.

Daily News did not even name the chief concerned.

The video was shared 2,400 times and viewed by nearly 200,000 people.

Have to make their quotas for promotion, don't they, even if they have to clutch at straws.

Yet again the bloody brain dead b.i.b. making up their own rules, just to extract money out of people.

Yet when they get shamed on social media, ohh just  a case of miscommunication.

Pathetic thats what it is pathetic.

Isn't social media great?

Its like a having daily RTP comedy show.

Good old 'mis-understandings'!

"miscommunication" <------------ this old chestnut rears its' head yet again. :cheesy:

Amazing thailand. Gee they must hate the fact that their tourist logo add . Well its truely amazing 5 5 5 .

Good to see all this happening

Thailand needs to learn what happens when it burns the candle at both ends.

Until then, it can keep digging a hole for itself and as it gets deeper, the harder it will be to get out.

Dig Away Thailand :)

I guess this reason for a ticket has replaced the old days when they would just say they need beer money. Can't say that anymore in case someone is taking a video.
