Global demand for Thai rubber increases 2% in first 5 months

BANGKOK, 18 July 2017 (NNT) - The Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE) said rubber exports during the first 5 months increased by 2% compared to the same period a year before.

OAE Secretary-General Jariya Sutthichaiya revealed that prices of rubber rose in the first 5 months due to the increasing global demand.

As for the second half of this year, Jariya added it would be difficult to predict the price, given the fact that rubber prices are likely to fluctuate according to the prices of crude oil.

The secretary-general is confident that the overall price situation will move in a positive direction.

Jariya also noted that the agricultural sector in Thailand would expand by 2.5% as previously anticipated due to the government’s supporting measures.

Apologies, completely off topic.

How do you do that? Scrub that line through an existing word.

Advice appreciated.

Thanx,

 Neanderthal.

In March 2016 the government rubber subsidy program helped drive up rubber market prices to 42-43 baht/kg compared to 34-35 baht/kg a few months earlier. https://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/902280-government’s-rubber-purchasing-plan-has-driven-up-market-prices/

On July 11, 2017 the price of latex dipped to 41 Bt/kg. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/detail/national/30320490

Production cost is 65Bt per kg.

Truly a remarkable recovery .... almost unbelievable.
