Debt cards are not widely used in Thailand

Featured Replies

Why 7-11 and Family mart stores don't except debt cards?

Is it ignorance by administration and employees or is it something else I am not aware of yet.

It's not true to say they are not widely used in Thailand. I always use mine in Lotus, Big C, Robinson's, and many other retailers. Just paid my car insurance with one etc etc. Never tried in 7-11 though.

They won't except a debt card only debit cards with visa on etc & credit cards.

I might try giving Family Mart an IOU note. :D

I will give an example in a store in a shopping mall after I buy something I use my debit card which requires my pin number to proceed with payment so, I think bank cards machines any where like 7-11 and Family mart are not different card payment processing machines but the problem is employees are not taught to use them and not willing to give it a try.   Only my respect to Thais prevents me form shouting to them by saying " try using it god damn it or you are stupid."
