Four drug suspects bolt from Nakhon Si Thammarat jail

By The Nation

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT: -- Police are hunting for four men suspected of involvement with illegal drugs who escaped from their detention cell in Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat early Friday morning.

Yameen Chan-uthai, 19, Chalermpol Chanyang, 27, Santi Chanachai, 28, and Pongpan Phokhasawat, 37, all local residents, got loose just after midnight when Police Sub Lieutenant Dong Utaranart was returning a fifth suspect, Chinoros Prajong, 32, to the cell following interrogation.

Just as Dong opened the cell door, the four detainees lunged past him and ran off.

Dong managed to hold on to Chinoros, who tried to join the others.

The precinct station was only built two months ago and is not yet equipped with CCTV cameras, so there’s no video recording of the incident.

I would have thought that one of the most important things to have before opening, was operational CCTV.

My apologies, I forgot I was in Thailand. :coffee1:
