I don't see Religion as a choice. Currently the biggest contributor to terrorism which leads to increases in migration & nationalism. It's bad enough having Kim and Trump with their fingers on the button. Can you imagine some death cult fanatic, desperate to bring on the end of the world, getting his hands on nukes? That applies to nut jobs in all 3 Abrahamic religions. The youngest one is in the spotlight now but there are people from all 3 who want nothing more than to bring on the apocalypse. They can't wait for it. So sure are they that their place in heaven is already reserved.

Illegal migration is the biggest problem not because of the people but more of what the people in a lot of cases bring, Drugs, terrorism, Sharia law.  It is as one poster said a lot of the Me me generation.

I can remember when immigration was a good thing because the immigrants wanted to come to Canada and the US and were willing to become Canadian citizens and agreed to the laws of the land and did not try to change them.

It is also this PC BS culture where you can not tell someone what you think.

Wealth disparity. Capitalism is fine, but unchecked it is bound to all end up at the top. Teddy Roosevelt understood this. Pay a decent wage for a decent day's work. Demanding more for your time and effort, like selling for the highest price, is not socialism. Greed at the top and poverty for most breeds revolution. I prefer a quiet night at the pub.

It has to be the modern day "Nationalism and Isolationism" . I say this because Nationalism, today, has been hijacked by the evil Supremacist forces . No matter what we believe or pretend to believe, the Supremacists have succeeded in dividing nations. Simply look at the once great champion of man and mankind , The United States of America. The same has happened to Europe and Great Britain . And if Charlottesville does not serve as a precursor to criminal upheavals more vile , we are, indeed, very foolish people !!

Hate will be the Fall of Man and all in the name of Nationalism !!

"Uncontrolled migration, including refugees, asylum seekers, economic and illegal migrants"

One has to ask the purpose of these open door policies. There is no economic benefit as most are welfare seekers, and there is limited humanitarian purpose, as most are economic migrants. It seems to be an effective weapon to tear down strong western cultures, which for the most part are self loathing anyways and begging for it.

So the big threat is not the migration itself, but who is using it to destroy western civilization,

"The threat of nuclear war or a nuclear strike."

Very unlikely, There is only one country threatening nuclear war and that country is incapable of bringing it. America will generate consent eventually to invade and regime change and it won't needs nukes. There is nothing the war department likes more than a long drawn out occupation.

The threat of a multi front world war however is a definite possibility and who knows, the nukes come into play there. WW3 is a near certainty in the next 30 years,

"Terrorism."

This has certainly changed our world and given broad powers to national governments. We have lost our privacy and must put up with a lot of inconvenience because of it. Of the things on the list to choose, this one has the most merit.

"Nationalism and isolationism."

Where is this happening outside of Thailand and North Korea?

I think you will find that it is fascism that is creating the tension. But it is socialist left which is now fascist and crusading against all contrary opinions. Super tolerance for all except those who hold any of the last century's values.

Governments / political movements which are trending to right of centre. e.g. currently Polish, Hungarian & US governments. As an example of political parties FN, France and OneNation, Australia

The biggest problem is that the 1% has the rest of us arguing about what is the biggest problem.  It's wealth concentration at the expense of the masses (most of whom had very little to give up anyway).  Everything else we're discussing is a by-product.

Edited the wording a little.

Simply a correction from 50 years of moving left. Hardly a global threat, more like a last attempt at common sense.

Deflection. I'll remind you of the question you posed.

migration... which hasn't even begun yet.

hey.. I can prove what the ****root**** cause of all of our problems is.

in just one or two sentences.

it also proves Donald Trump is not a racist.
it also is why migration will be the most serious issue.

it also is why Chomsky is the greater optimist over most of us... including Steven Pinker.

it also the root cause and solution to racism and the Nazi's as well.

in oen swell swoop.
