Pol Lt Gen Sanit Mahathavorn, commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, on Saturday afternoon (Aug 19) went to CentralWorld shopping centre for an inspection after a fire broke out at a restaurant on the 6th floor shortly before noon.

 

Media reports said the fire broke out at about 12.10pm at the kitchen of Hua Seng Hong restaurant.  Billows of smoke were seen blowing out from the 6th floor of the shopping centre.

 

Pol Lt Gen Sanit said that from a police investigation the fire started from an exaust hood of the restaurant in the kitchen.
