SONGKHLA: -- A Thai man confessed to police that he murdered a woman he was on a first date with out of anger, after she let out a complaint that he “sucked at sex” during their coupling — at least in his version of the story.

In a press conference on Sunday, police in southern Songkhla province announced the arrest of Natthan Raknui, 23, for the murder of a woman named Jiraporn Theppaya, 22, who was found dead on a rubber plantation near Prawk Suwan Canal.

According to police, Natthan started talking to the victim on Facebook in July. After two weeks of a long-distance courtship, he rode two hours in a public van from Phatthalung province to meet up with Jiraporn in Songkhla on Aug. 12.

Slitting somebody's throat is an odd reaction even when enraged. It suggests a calculated murder from an individual who is familiar with using a knife on living things. Where did the knife materialise from in the first place if not on the killer's person. Why bring a knife to a tryst? I think the excuse is fabricated. I think the murder was at least partially conceived before he even got on the bus.

Another tragic victim of a Thai male 'ego' murder !

Exactly.....men from other countries, for example like... "foreigners"..... Would never even dream of doing such a thing...... "God help us all" (I think we need it).

I think the reality is that Thai men appear to do it on a far more regular basis.

I think you are Thai ? (or, if not, you wish you were.)

It's not Thai bashing by saying that Thai poor education and culture make them do stupid things when they lose FACE. They always use violence like wild animals. They can't communicate and solve whatever issue they encounter.

Their lack of communication skills are astounding. I've had several young kids, relatives, who have spent time at my house with or without their parents, and I swear they sometimes go two or three days without saying a word. That just isn't normal. I went with my wife to visit one of her old school friends, and her daughter was sitting an English exam the next day for entry to a university. A perfect chance for her to converse with me in English as preparation, but again, not a single word from her all evening. One relative stayed with us for weeks and she barely said a word the entire time she was with us. Extraordinary. But that's what the culture demands. Young people are not allowed to have a voice, in the classroom and sometimes at home, so it's hardly surprising that they grow up with no communication skills.

no wonder

If he "sucked at sex", maybe he thought he was meeting a guy?  Most of these fragile Thai males are but a coat of lipstick away from turning Katoey anyway.

This could be a rape and murder .

Maybe She didnt consent and thats why he killed Her

Congratulations, almost the first poster (apart from moi) who employed some cognitive skills and considered the source of the tale of what happened as opposed to blindly taking the story as gospel truth.

Hmmm... I do not need the 'help' of your little god. But that unfortunate young lady sure as heck did.

Not for Thai males it isn't ( an odd reaction).  Quite a common genetic disorder due to Thais proclivity to inbreeding. Psychosis and  inability to meet responsibility are a common trait from the rich down to the poor.

I am not sure your point is pertinent to mine.

I was referring to the deliberate cutting of the throat and the bringing of the knife. I was not referring to the flying off the handle at the slightest slight to the ego. The latter is well known in Thailand as you point out. An enraged man might more likely repeatedly stab their victim, say, 20 times or smash their head with a brick. This seems a calculated killing.
