Thailand’s Central Group to invest $512m in Vietnam

The real reason the baht is so strong, another major overseas acquisition/investment by a thai company. That strong baht  benefits a few not the many. Thats dollars not baht.

The company, which has acquired local businesses and is introducing its own Thai retail banners into the fast-growing market, is aiming to achieve sales growth of between 20% and 30% annually there. I don't think there's anything unusual about them not investing here after they complained last year about poor sales in their department stores. The consumer in Thailand like America is tapped out - up to their necks in personal debt:sad:
