  1. There is a fresh seafood market in Naklua, it’s where the baht buses stop to make the return journey back into Pattaya It’s quiet a distance from the roundabout 2nd road / beach road, maybe some other member recalls the name
  2. Maybe already done, but have you checked in your banking apps that online payments are set to enabled.
  3. No worries, I added some line breaks plus made PC bold to make it a bit more clearer
  4. But how are they going to implement this when you transfer money via a PC? Everybody needs to buy a webcam?
  5. No, only for outgoing transfers over 50K, for example paying a bill with QR code or transfer to another account
  6. I found this topic about the amount maybe it helps
  7. It depends how much you send, sending over a certain amount (I am not sure about the amount) could incur delays both at the sending side and the receiving (Thailand) side. I regularly send approximately 100K THB to my Thai BBL Bank account from my European Bank account via Wise and it’s usually there the following day at around 2pm. (Only if there are Thai Bank holidays then it will take longer to arrive)
  8. Update went to see Dr Roy. everything looks good, but because I am seeing glares the Doc wants to do the operation on my left eye in 2 weeks to see if it improves. And I after the operation has finished I will still have to wear glasses for distance vision. No problem with that edit: the doc is thinking of changing the lens used for my left eye to another brand.
  9. Update: just received an email from my insurance and they have paid out for both my operation on my right eye and the follow up with the Doctor the next day. ???? edit: tmrw the follow up after 1 week and the discussion when my left eye will be done. I hope it will be soon as I am really getting bored with Bangkok and wanna go home ????
  10. You want to transfer money from the UK bank account to a Thai who has a bank account in Thailand? correct? If so, you will need the following - full name of recipient in English - name of bank - bank account number - swift code of the bank then ask your bank how to transfer money via SWIFT or as said above use WISE.COM but you need to create an account or last but very expensive option is WESTERN UNION, recipient can pick it up almost instantaneously
  11. Grab? We stayed in a hotel recently because of my eye operation and we ordered stuff from a pharmacy and that was delivered to the hotel within an hour orso edit: when I lived in Pattaya which was before Grab existed in Thailand, I asked the motocycle taxis outside the condo to get me stuff
  12. Compressor (outside unit) and inside unit work together recently geckos fried the control board of our outdoor unit and thus it wouldn’t turn on anymore, the indoor unit kept blowing air but it was not cold because the compressor wouldn’t turn on, so they are a team. we had the same kind of setup in our old condo, but we replaced it with a wall mounted inverter unit.
  13. 2nd hand store? Or a place that fixes aircons? why would you only want an outdoor (compressor) unit?
  14. One for @Crossy I opened both my water bill and electricity bill at once. Needless to say, I was shocked.
  15. Joint account will not be accepted for marriage extension
  16. Do you by any chance mean TTB? https://www.ttbbank.com/en
  17. Yep doing all that, I got a 2 page instruction set with me on discharge and on the day of the follow-up my wife got instructions from the nurse how to clean my eye with cotton balls which comes out of a sterile bag and use it together with saline solution I got the instructions today to use artificial tear drops at least 4 times a day, but I use it also before administering the eye drops because they take the stinging away.
  18. yeah but the insurance is not cheap 4000 Euros a year and it’s a European insurance. Also 2nd opinion is covered and I needed that in this case because Dr Roy was the 4th Doc I visited for this. (Very long story ) My right eye was 116K which was cheaper then their estimate of 120-140k. I wonder if for 50k you will get the extensive eye tests done which will determine which lens you are getting. After the eye tests (in pre-op) they found out that my left eye was not 100% “straight” so they have to accommodate for that with the lens. The pre-op was done by 6 (yeah six) different machines and took approx 1-1,5 hrs to complete..
  19. Thx Sheryl. i will still use the artificial tears more often as they also give me some relief from the (sometimes) stinging eye drops. We are waiting at least 5-10 minutes between the drops.
  20. Wifey called the hospital (did not speak to the Doctor) and they said that the increase of glares could maybe have something to do with dry eyes. They recommended using artificial tears more often.
  21. I think that is what will be the outcome for me as well, but I will ask Dr Roy this when I see him next time, but for me it’s the other way around. I am really seeing an increase in glares, halos not so, but glares are becoming more and more evident.
  22. Day 3 after the operation and I sometimes am seeing glares and halos not all the time but they are noticeable. other then that vision is getting better.
  23. ???? This was a couple of years ago and I know for a fact that a friend has waited 35 days this year. I have changed to retirement 2 years so I don’t have that under consideration period any more.
  24. sorry but that was not my intention. I just wanted to show that in Buriram (where my IO is located) that it was the max I had to wait.
