  1. His advertisers also have the right of free speech AND the right to remain silent.... on X.
  2. Elon is trying to compare X to VOA???? I'm pretty sure the leaders in charge at VOA didn't tell those who paid the bills to "go F___ yourselves"
  3. The menu does look interesting but the prices would cause my expectations to be quite high. Also I am not thrilled when I see this note at the bottom of menus: *All prices are in Thai Baht and subject to a 10% service charge and 7% government tax. I like it to be easy to see the final price for all dishes. I do accept that some restaurants add a note regarding an extra charge for larger groups. I don't understand the reasoning behind a mandatory "service charge" for everyone that is shown separately.
  4. Now my only use for the debit card is for some online shopping where they don't have a QR code option. I won't be using it for any more ATM withdrawals.
  5. Are you claiming that if a taxpayer had 4M ฿ of interest income that his tax rate on that income would never exceed 15%? I think that 15% figure comes from the fact that banks withhold 15% of interest payments. I think the taxpayer would owe more tax on that interest than was withheld.
  6. To clarify... country A doesn't "issue" a tax credit. It is the taxpayer's responsibility to document that tax on some specific income was actually assessed and paid to country A. The taxpayer will self-assess his income in his tax filing for country B. No documentation of tax credits is filed with the taxpayer's tax filing to country B. The taxpayer will need to retain documentation of tax paid to country A in case of an audit of his tax return to country B.
  7. Good thread! I'm going to use it to augment my ignore list with the last few cranks that have managed to dance in the rain without getting wet.
  8. Trump media's company will probably be soon releasing their very own web "search" engine to protect their loyal followers from ungodly influences. Ms susan is probably a Beta tester.
  9. yes and yes. I think it's been about 6 months since I last used it at ATM... I just do cardless withdrawals now. I think the smartphone method is much more secure.
  10. His fear of debating Harris is now secondary to his fear that he's losing in the polls. So now he has to bite the bullet, roll the dice, and hope that a miracle happens in that debate. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
  11. I was thinking that BiB would accompany the TRD staff as part of the process to collect the data that TRD wanted from the bank. I don't know how seizures are enforced in Thailand. I assumed law enforcement would be involved.
  12. The exits are clearly marked if by some misfortune you found yourself here.
  13. @susanlea It's really astounding how resistant you are to trying to learn something you don't know. That's probably because somehow you've convinced yourself you know almost everything. AN is so unlucky to be saddled with a Dunning-Kruger poster child.
  14. I deal with the big blue bank mostly and I have a debit card attached to the account I use for daily expenditures. The balance rarely is >> 4K ฿. Since I became familiar with QR payments and cardless withdrawals, I set the card's withdrawal limit to 0. I may just not bother with renewing my debit card at all. Today I got a text message indicating that someone tried to use it and the transaction was denied. I called the service number given in the text and the rep was able to tell me that the shop trying to process the transaction was Bass Pro Online. That shop is a large recreation goods seller in the US. I had in the past used that card to pay the monthly subscription for a US based publication but had stopped that more than a year ago. Maybe it's just coincidence that it was a US merchant involved. I do appreciate that the bank notified me that my card number is probably compromised and that they could identify the merchant where the attempt was made.
  15. I haven't tried We-La-Dee's version of that dish, but it's not surprising that other versions of it in CM are not that good. It's a dish that originates in Southern Thailand but is also common in Central Thai provinces. Since my wife is from Central that's the regional food that I know best. She's a great cook and source of knowledge about Thai cooking and ingredients.
  16. Even in Thailand, the banks have very large data centers. The BiB show up one day and ask for a file that contains all the deposits that exceed the threshold that interests them to accounts that don't have a Thai tax ID associated with it. They sort that file using the size of deposit so the biggest ones are easy to spot.... can you figure out the rest???

  18. You're just too lazy to think before you post nonsense. It also seems your overly impressed with your intelligence. Climate change is sickening and killing quite a few people world wide. Extreme heat waves, many floods, droughts, community water systems compromised by flood waters, stronger and more frequent storms.... Too bad clueless people still get to vote.
  19. I recommend you use a throw away email address for stuff like that. Check out yopmail.com. If you get an email that you want to keep you can just forward it to your real email inbox or just copy the relevant text and save in a note taking app. Keep in mind that yopmail has absolutely no security because they don't even use passwords.
  20. I have seen it in CM. I'm not sure where but most likely was one of these: homepro or index living mall.
  21. It's not clear if by "residents" you mean people who have tax residency in a country other than Thailand and also don't have tax residency in Thailand. I'm sure most posters know NONE of this applies to such persons. Citizenship is generally given little weight when deciding if a person's income is taxable in a particular country.
  22. It's hard to find a clear declaration of how much "wall" was built under Trump. At lot of articles refer to the 18 to 30 feet tall steel bollard barrier as replacement "fence". I think there were about 450 miles of that bollard "fence" built. You know .... the fence that the Mexican smugglers cut with battery operated tools.
  23. Hopefully, it will only take a handful more repetitions of this information to allay "the sky is falling" reactions to the updated TRD policy.
  24. Last year the TRD scheduled a meeting with our son to discuss his compliance with collecting VAT on the sales at his chain of 4 restaurants. The TRD had visited his restaurants on many days and observed the number of customers and from that estimated that he had underpaid the VAT due. He said their estimate was reasonable. He was able to negotiate a significant reduction in the amount they had assessed based on their estimate. TRD was satisfied with the reduced payment. The moral of the story is that TRD is not without the capability to do the work required to identify undeclared taxable revenue and they are open to reaching a compromise.
  25. redundant as other's responded with same advice to @Fortean1
