LOL.... you really must be too lazy to do an actual analysis of the impact of reasonable firearm restrictions. You think it can all be boiled down to simpleton level statistics. ½ the firearm deaths are suicides.... it's too late to aim for restrictions that would have much impact on those deaths unless the firearm owners are willing to surrender them. A hail storm in Hell is more likely. An effective policy of firearm restrictions should start with focusing on those deaths that are the most easily prevented and assault rifle restrictions would most likely face the least resistance from the general population of firearm owners. Assault style rifles are by far the best candidates for restrictions based on the above listed factors.

The Republican Reckoning: A Post-Trump Civil War Looms if He Loses

There seems to be close to ½ the US voters that have been insisting on zero compromise for decades. Nasty Newt started that trend. -
Number of 401(k) ‘millionaires’ reaches new high
gamb00ler replied to Roo Island's topic in Political Soapbox
My memory is also weak lately. Who was in charge of the 401k portfolio from late 2021 to jan 2023? Did you have one of the three portfolio managers who don't know that rising interest rates negatively impact market valuations? -
It seems clear that you haven't really been paying much attention to the posters in these tax threads that have significant experience in tax matters. I can say that your post seems to rely only upon opinion from outraged but misinformed thread participants. I'm willing to wager that unless the TRD is taken over by PCP addicts, the things you've complained about won't be happening.

LOL... have you lost count of how many grand juries have recommended indictments against you orange hero? So far 3 indictments for Trump have been issued by grand juries. But, Arizona's grand jury also recommended indictment but the prosecutor has not yet done so. Just in case your knowledge of grand juries is as poor as most of your posts indicate (courtesy of chatgpt): A grand jury is a group of citizens selected to review evidence and determine whether there is enough probable cause to charge someone with a crime. Here's a general overview of who is typically on a grand jury: 1.Jurors: Grand juries usually consist of 16 to 23 jurors, depending on the jurisdiction. These individuals are selected from the community through a process similar to that used for trial juries, often involving random selection from voter registration lists or other public records. 2.Prosecutor: The prosecutor presents evidence and legal arguments to the grand jury. They are responsible for explaining the law and how the evidence supports the potential charges. 3.Judge: In some jurisdictions, a judge may oversee the grand jury proceedings to ensure they comply with legal standards, but they do not participate in the deliberations or vote. 4.Witnesses: During grand jury proceedings, witnesses may be called to testify. Their testimonies help the jurors understand the evidence related to the case. Grand juries operate in secrecy to protect the privacy of those involved and to encourage open and honest testimony. Their primary role is to determine whether there is enough evidence to formally charge someone with a crime, not to decide guilt or innocence.

It's astonishing how backward looking the GOP is. Their thinking is stuck decades in the past. The GOP is constantly scaremongering about all the societal, economic and geo-political shifts that have already happened and will continue to do so despite their efforts.

That's the part that makes his story so pathetic. It makes it obvious that RFKj is missing most of the characteristics that make a human a good leader. Instead it makes him an outstanding sycophant.

The line of Tump contractors, lawyers and employees waiting to get paid is longer than that of the attendees at his recent rallies.

The deduction of Medicare premiums does not reduce your income. It's just a convenience for both the recipient and SSA. Your SSA-1099 shows the total benefit as income. It doesn't show the net amount paid to the recipient. Theoretically, the TRD should give you an exemption equal to the total on the SSA-1099.

Try to use the USB hub you bought with only 1 of the WD Passport drives plugged into it. You may be able to also use a USB stick as well on that hub. Let us know if that works.

I tried to use the downloadable PDF but I could only fill in about half of it and then couldn't proceed. I then tried the online HTML version and when I entered the country as THAILAND the currency was set to THB with no opportunity to change it. I think it is very unlikely that you would be able to receive the transfer in Canadian $$.
