  1. I'm eavesdropping - not highjacking..... We fly EVA out of CNX.....They partner With United SFO/LAX to HOU - but have United routes to Dallas, Fort Worth.... It's usually seamless & about 27-29 hours journey time.... Weather snarled flight traffic on the HOU - LAX leg last trip & they comped a room and meal vouchers for us (after trying to reroute us away from the storm) as we missed an alternate route through SFO by 35 minutes.....We hit back to CNX on Friday instead of Wednesday..... Some random information that may help....
  2. Wishing you smooth & safe travels
  3. You can call me anything - just not late for dinner.....
  4. Thai wife style.....Not always "conventional" Spaghetti with avocado, eggs, & sourdough toast....
  5. Currently in SW Texas near family....The next step is a cruise out of Galveston then Houston, San Antonio, & Fort Worth seeing whatever pops up.... We'll spend some time around Cold Spring in the trees by Lake Livingston..... Toying with the idea of Dollywood & the Great Smokies....
  6. Hard Fried eggs with sourdough toast & pork with avocado and cherry tomatoes.....Some raw garlic on the side that my wife insists is good for us.....A nice big glass of cold milk....
  7. I get more messages than unknown callers.... When I see the header I decide whether to block or not..... Unknown callers - maybe 2-3 a month....
  8. RV style in Texas.... Shrimp Jok, with eggs, avocado, asparagus, sourdough toast, and 0% milk....

Yes = to us - not necessarily to a Thai..... I've seen much worse on t-shirts in Thailand.....

    Google is your friend.....
  11. I'm not sure about the menu, unless they are flipping to an English or illustrated selection section..... Modern laundromats are new to Thais....They might think it's new for you too, or the instructions are in Thai & they are just trying to be helpful.... By in large the Thais are an unassuming, helpful lot.....
  12. RV style in rainy Texas at the moment.... Broccoli and bratwurst over eggs with toasted sourdough dressed with garlic & herbed butter..... The joy of having a great Thai wife....
  13. It wouldn't surprise me if the powders being sold here are laced with asbestos also..... I warned my wife and daughters about this more than a few times.....
  14. For many it's a social courtesy/thank you/expected behaviour.... No special romantic connotations beyond pleasure seeking or the offering of sexual gratification..... The western concept of romance attached to intimacy is misguided here.....
  15. There's a healthy balance that needs to be maintained.... Activity is a good & healthy trait.... Otherwise, nothing really gets accomplished.....
  16. You don't have to look for Mind Numbing Stupidity = it will identify itself....
  17. Wild Hog usually has a Christmas buffet.... They have one seating The Dukes has sit down dinners....They have a few different seating time options.....
  18. 11 - the guys that think that everyone but him is stupid and/or beneath him....Plus always pointing out how much smarter/better everything is in his homeland.... Constantly has to one up and take over conversations.....Only his opinion matters...
  19. When I was raising my daughter a Nordic microwave pressure cooker was one of my favorite go to options....It opened up a whole new spectrum of dishes not really commonly thought to be prepared by microwave.....Perfect for a small kitchen....
  20. I started a long answer twice....I got interrupted & I guess they timed out....So going basic.... Napa area to SF and out towards Benicia & the highway corridor.... Definitely Latinos... . Hotels 2-3.5/4 stars....And, for some odd reason single nights were only available; forcing us to check around.... We usually fly in, spend about a week RV in Napa, then hit the road....This time we found we needed repairs that took a week.....It cost me $7000 that first week & I couldn't get out of there fast enough..... We usually kept the same routine on every trip - same storage, service, etc, = that change took place over about 16 months..... That's usually the interval between trips.... I decided to use Texas from then on for a base....
  21. Last trip to the states we had a few nights (7) in hotels in the SF area.... There were clumps of them just hanging out in the walkways 24/7 with nothing to do....Women standing in doorways plying their trade..... Every eyeball following the movements of every other guest..... There were some hotels with 25-40 people just hanging & watching out.... Our RV needed about a week's work.....We only had apps to locate/check out lodgings.... Finding some with security, safe parking, without clusters of people permeating the place was difficult - even with searching a 70+ mile radius of San Francisco.... The homeless were also out sleeping under roadways & asking for money at stop signs.....Encampments sprouted out along side roads..... Places I knew from the past, I no longer knew in the present.... We're spending late Sept 25 to January 26 there RVing.... I'm seriously considering getting gunned up.... Bleak....
  22. Seems like he was deadheading & not part of the on duty flight crew.....
  23. Agreed - We will find out later this month =. Spending 3 months in the US, RVing.... Chit chat by happenstance reveals quite a bit of info & a pulse.....
