  1. Been there, done that while watching the rear deck almost swamp blowing open the under bench life jacket stowage & sweeping life jackets out into the sea..... Having have owned a decent sized boat I THINK I would have read & ridden the swells differently....But not being on the upper deck, I didn't view what the pilot was seeing.....Plus the effects of of a shallow bottomed sea....
  2. The most used is a steel 14"? wok with a handle....No coatings.... I use my bread maker more than anything else, the pan does have a Teflon coating.... I just step back & let the 3 gals do their thing.... It's amazing what comes out of that little kitchen....Thai or western..... There's a very large cabinet with cooking pans, pots, utensils, and appliances + more I have stashed for bbq in a metal outside cabinet....Including a George Foreman grill & a pressure cooker..... About 90% goes unused.... The wok remains king & they use it for cooking things I'd never have thought about being prepared in a wok....
  3. Big engine & total vehicle weight at 2200 pounds of which 754 pounds were the hemi engine..... Very quick & very fast.....
  4. Time to switch away from your camo wardrobe....
  5. 56 Chevy - 61 TR3 I barrelled , jetted, & cammed - 53 Studebaker pick up I put a Chrysler hemi in (a fast beast at 2218#) - 64 Malibu SS convertible 300/327 4spd..... On the mc side a Honda 160 before they stepped up to larger bikes & Ducati 250 hill/flat track bike at the same time.....The brakes & shifters were opposite on each bike, making for some interesting mini-moments.....
  6. OP Congratulations if you have gone 3 weeks without alcohol... That's a great jump start on a positive life change decision...... Keep up the good progress.....
  7. I'm guessing it's only limited as far as you can stretch your imagination....
  8. A very real assessment by somebody that has real time in there.... I have spent years there & I cannot find one good reason for going back..... It's a desperate place filled with desperate people..... Right down to the groups of urchins that walk in circles hitting your vehicle with their fists at traffic lights. (the traffic lights that haven't had the wiring stripped out of them yet).....
  9. My dog is a Bangkaew..... When he's no longer sniffing and investigating & just walking straight ahead I know he's had enough.....I say Rusty home and he leads me straight home..... I walk him about 25 miles a week.....2 or 3 days a week I'll run him about 1/2 mile astride the bicycle at a brisk pace, not a dead run ....At 75 my running days are over, although I loved it ....I have too much knee & hip damage from sports.....
  10. Ah yes....The Pattaya cavers club?
  11. I did receive a 90 reminder email in July for an upcoming Aug 6 check in..... My new check in date is now Oct 22, which corresponds with the day they accepted the electronic submission .....
  12. We went to the Indiana Jones movie.... I thought about seeing it in 4D....Then decided I really didn't want to spend 2.5 hours sitting in something akin to a long Disney ride.... IMAX, when done right, can be a nice, wow experience.... At best, the new IJ flik is a parody of better days better left in the past.....
  13. I recently submitted mine.... Then I freaked out..... I had made a mistake on the last entry date by about 14 days = the handwritten date was faint at the 1st numeral....<Passport switch where they'd stamped & then hand written the prior entry dates>.... However, after 3 days it did come back as accepted....
  14. You might not want to carry the signed book in the vehicle if you do that....
  15. A bit of everything - surely..... I have one daughter that would be knocking on my door in nano seconds with hands out and another new sad plight to "sell".....
  16. Being raised in CA, the CHP has always been looked upon as a bunch of walking dildos that really want to be real swinging dicks..... Basically traffic monitors with bad attitudes.... They have a little man complex within the spectrum of the law enforcement culture.....
  17. Judging by the scar - more of a side incision.... This Dr also practices in Japan & Dubai a couple of weeks per month as well as CM....That was before Covid....But, he's definitely established himself internationally....
  18. I swell more than bruise.....I had almost no pain, but the swelling kept me in for an extra day.... They brought me a walker & I refused it & got crutches (more mobility & leverage choices)....The Dr commented my 3 week check up was what he normally saw during the 3 month follow up check up.... Airports have been no issue....
  19. ProAuto in Hang Dong just south of Makro on the other side..... After 7 expensive and time consuming trips to CM's "premier" AC place trying to repair my AC I took it to ProAuto & repaired on the first visit & has withstood the test of time.... Tonn - excellent English
  20. We used Star Visa for my wife's US & European visa....Both went through 1st try.... The lady at the first desk that is perpendicular, past the lined up desks for reception.... She has her fingers on the situational pulse, requesting info beyond the "canned" check off list that created a complete resume that was accepted & passed..... It's located down the street from the consulate.... I wouldn't go anywhere else.... It's where the Thais go for the many visas they need for travel visas worldwide..... Good luck to you..,
  21. I'm 194 cm/90k - which I brought down from 117k with intermittent fasting....I played my last organized sport at 70....I brought the weight down in an effort to keep my knees & non titanium hip from any additional wear & tear.... I walk the dog about 4 miles a day + ride a bicycle approximately the same distance.....I bought a cable/pulley home gym and use it 6 days a week.....I can still bend putting my palms flat on the floor, which is good because my knees are shot.... Stretching = not much....Balance is ok, but not what once was - no off balance episodes....The wrinkling is a bummer & starting to show on my thighs.... Muscle mass just doesn't seem to flourish.... At almost every meal my wife makes a point of telling me about the good nutritional stuff she's included & what it helps body wise..... All in all feeling good approaching 76....
  22. My bank wants a secure-a-key or a US phone number as a final check before sending.....By amount It also would take 2 transactions at $45 per.... I bought a secure-a-key but none of our phones or laptop could get it to sync with the bank app....
  23. UPDATE = SUCCESS !!! If you follow through the possible options or ways to connect there are a few choices.... Some were involving Wise outsourced (linked) companies to overcome the roadblock of my bank not accepting a log in with a 3rd party tagging along..... I was not comfortable supplying what I considered private financial information to completely unknown entities.... At the very end of the options there was an choice to manually input my bank routing & my account numbers directly to Wise.....This I did.... Wise then deposited 2 small amounts of under a dollar into my US bank account.....It took until the next business day.... With the two small deposit amounts I logged on to Wise supplying the amounts when prompted to continue my paused transfer from yesterday..... Within one minute of verification my transfer was completed and deposited into my Bangkok bank account... Hope this helps anybody else that has, or, will run into this roadblock.... It's at the very end of the choice option list & worked like a charm.... Cheers & wishing you well....
