  1. So it's obviously one of those countries..so why ask.
  2. I just completed this quiz. My Score 40/100 My Time 136 seconds
  3. First question is your partner Male or Female. It could possibly change the procedures. With overseas marriage documents it is possible to have it properly registered in Thailand. But many hoops to go through.. Translations, Embassy certification, Foreign Affairs, etc etc. But yes it can be done.
  4. Whoops..yes wrong word.cheers
  5. Yes no problem, but I'd make sure you have all your paperwork, bank account etc all ready to go, just in case you have hiccups with your travel. Also I'd make sure you have 5 business days, not including weekends and holidays, otherwise you might get tripped up. Happy extension.
  6. So all the children he escorted only spoke Hebrew...best laugh of the day.
  7. And this has to do with pruning trees...explain.
  8. utter rubbish. There are many Thai tradesman in many categories who do excellent work and do it correctly. You are obviously hiring the wrong people or are somewhat prestigious against Thai workmen in general. Maybe change your attitude.
  9. I think the final report on the tradegy is going to be a comedy of errors. Substandard steel some places, possibly poorly constructed elevator shafts, corruption from the initial contract and plans, material not up to spec, concrete not properly cured etc, and the list goes on. But of course being Thailand the blame will be watered down substantially in the final report. Italthai will be blameless of course.
  10. "you can buy the machine for 40,000 baht" This comment is definitely not correct, although the rest of your sentence is factual. Maybe explain what you call a 'machine' and what you are going to get for $1200.
  11. So the son was too busy before, but now all of a sudden he has a conscience. He should have dealt with this much sooner. As I posted earlier, it is gross negligence for this man's condition to be this bad. It is shameful.
  12. A foot like that doesn't happen overnight, so it shouldn't have ever got to this stage. This is gross negligence by his caregivers. Whoever they are, they should be ashamed of themselves.
  13. Personally I don't believe in 'Go Fund Me' requests. If people don't have the means to take care of themselves during good times and bad, they really shouldn't be here..don't put their plight onto others. IMHO. Also the person this thread is about, looks far to sick and feeble to be flown anywhere, and should be taken care of here for as long as he's got. This is sad but there is a time when people just have to let go. Once again IMHO.
  14. That's the best I've heard for a while...."fill in the fault lines with concrete".... laugh for today😀 I am going to believe he actually knows what faultlines are, but reading his post, I'm not so sure.
  15. Information. The Tsunami buoys cannot be properly maintained by Thai personnel, except for basic maintanence. They are very sophisticated and initial cost was over one million USD per buoy when deployed after the 2004 Tsunami. These buoys are useless as stand alone and for accurate data they must be used as an array (at least 3). They are initially tethered to the seabed, but due to nature, fishing nets and actual cable theft they can drift, which of course renders any data practically useless. The towers and the buoys were great knee jerk reaction ideas after the Tsunami (albeit very good ideas), but without money and resources allocated for long term maintenance they become obsolete..sad but true.
  16. Yes it knew about you, and waited 6 more years, so you wouldn't be harmed!!
  17. The fool might be the AR poster who thinks 30 floors of impacted concrete and steel can be cleared in a day. You are a person that probably believes in skyhooks.
  18. Oh Crossy, you are getting a bit daring there...haha
  19. New member, and over 130 posts in a week, and now you come up with this piece of unbelievable rubbish. A Thai policeman actually said "wait a minute, are you wearing underpants" and " No thanks, have a good day". Thai police just don't talk like that. At least your amazing posts gives many of the AN posters many laughs for the day. 😂
  20. Your reference is wrong, so you should look it up so you can quote correctly. Also what's with 'The Don' at the end of every post....kind ofcringeworthy...we know your profile name (unfortunately).
  21. I am bent out of shape due to the bent steel, from a bent contract, signed by an obviously bent official. So with all that out of the way I'm off to town in my Bentley to buy a Fray Bentos pie. By the way my next door neighbour is bent (so is his boyfriend). Nice guys. Have a nice day😂
  22. Well that's extremely helpful to 'the topless on the beach' topic.
  23. Oh dear another AN know it all @black tabby12345 I have 35 years with US Geological Survey/TMD/ADPC, so yes of course I know better than most. Your points on some of the causes of Tsunamis are correct, but if you read the post I replied to before, he was saying it was lucky for the beach people, when the Quake was NOT under the sea, but many kms inland and therefore no way for Tsunami generation. So next time you reply negatively be sure of what you are replying too and if you don't have the knowledge then best to zip it. Have a nice day.
