PM to discuss possible cabinet shakeup with coalition parties
couchpotato replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You have been a member for a few months and you're telling me about my Agency...so silly boy you are. I have been with them since 1993...if you knew the Agency you would feel foolish about what you wrote. Adjust your thinking pls. -
PM to discuss possible cabinet shakeup with coalition parties
couchpotato replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
My 3 predictions: 1)MFP will be dissolved in June/July, and sadly many of it's founding members will be exiled from politics for at least 10 years. Yes a new party will formed, and some members/MP's will cross over before the court ruling. 2) Yingluck is home by September (with an amnesty or K's pardon). 3)Sretta will resign by next April (citing fatigue) and T's daughter will slot in until the election. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Luckily the Govt Agency I work for is not made up of political appointees and is immune from all the political shenanigans. -
1)You do realise if you went that route, that 'she, in her name' (not you) would have to bring the total purchase price in from overseas. Inward remittance would have to be in her name. You cannot use money already in Thailand. 2)Using her Australian passport to purchase is probably feasible, but at some stage (either at the Bank or the Land Office) someone is going to query the lack of Visa/Extension/entry stamps in her passport, then she will need to show her Thai ID and this may cause problems. Be careful.

BREAKING NEWS! Iran potentially triggers World War 3
couchpotato replied to george's topic in The War in Israel
Totally agree with you. IMO Iran knew their missiles/drones probably wouldn't do any damage (ie: would be intercepted by the iron fist!), so their response was really symbolic. Unless provoked again by Israel they won't send anymore missiles/drones. -

So maybe they should curb their settlements, their aggression, their obvious hatred of the races around their borders. Otherwise hard to live in peace. -
Usually house plans are lodged with the local Tessabaan, not with the Land office. Doubtful they will still have plans from 40 years ago. Knock down the area first and check the foundations etc at that point. That will show you how the posts, beams, slab, possibly some plumbing etc were built. then go from there.

This is too silly to be anything but a windup, so thank you for the mirth. -

Oh dear Nick...you've been at this nonstop for 6 months now, and your opinions are getting rather boring. Take a few days off, relax, smell the flowers and come back (hopefully not) refreshed. -
In my apartments the aircons are getting slowly changed out after 10 years of operation. Using 'hisense' 18,000 btu Aircons also. For taking out the old aircons, redoing any necessary wiring and piping, installing new aircons and 2 year free cleaning, we pay our aircon guy 20,000 per room. With apartments and houses our aircon guy (Daikin certified) has 28 aircons to service every year. This is one of the models we are upgrading too. HISENSE AS-18TR4RGSKB00 There are a few models with much the same specs, so we just go with the latest model.

Foreigners and their overseas income: what next?
couchpotato replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes (as above) I pay about 850,000 baht a year tax on my 12 mths Thai baht salary. Even though progressive most of it is at the top rates, but because of big deductions for age, RMF funds, Family, insurance and misc, it works about 20+% overall, which I feel is fair. -

Definitely, if you keep posting this nonsense. Although on second thoughts it does give me my laughs for the day. -

And what has this to do with the OP's post about getting from SUV to BPH. -
Drive Time from Suvarnabhumi Airport To Bangkok Hospital Pattaya
couchpotato replied to Dp1231's topic in Pattaya
You are one strange poster. But if the bus did crash, he could ask to be taken to BPH for treatment and also fulfill his 3.30 appointment. -
Drive Time from Suvarnabhumi Airport To Bangkok Hospital Pattaya
couchpotato replied to Dp1231's topic in Pattaya
If plane is on time, you should be able to get a taxi about 1pm. And at that time of the day, and being public Songkran holidays (with free tolls), you should be at the hospital by 2.45pm at the latest. -
90 day in person
couchpotato replied to orientfan's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your question has probably been asked a thousand times over the years, so yes by leaving/returning your 90 days resets and starts from the 24th March (of course assuming your Extension is still valid).
