  1. Stories don't really matter anymore. The videos have have put them in a very tight spot....doesn't matter what our views are. They are now in the cells without bail. The Court will fine them heavily plus compensation for the policemans anxiety (sic). Then into the Immigration cells and deported/blacklisted. The story has been covered extensively in NZ, so I'm sure their homecoming won't be very pretty with their families.
  2. About time...but is it only hollow words. Guess we'll see.
  3. That is so interesting and relevant...not!
  4. Also did he vote over the weekend?
  5. I'd like to know wtf a Russian is doing in Buriram..I thought it was reserved for brits and Aussies only. This is just my attempt at humour for this morning😜
  6. I like your plan and your attitude to the whole adventure. I'm sure in 3-4 years you'll have a property envied by many. Wish you luck.
  7. If you get deported for a stairway assault, then these 2 idiots should get a lot worse. Terrible shameful behaviour.
  8. Not weird at all---I had monkey previously that I called 'George'
  9. Actually it was a very good play on words, and you missed his joke. Shame on you.
  10. Price fixed at order time--when you pay probably 50%. The prices shown on the wall of every Gold shop is the price at that time (can change many times a day). As others have told you..Thai gold is not 24k, and the price is derived from the world gold price. For Gold bars you will pay that price. I think people have answered all your questions. If you still have questions then you are being naive and shouldn't be delving into gold. It's not rocket science. Go to a shop and order a bar or a bracelet/necklace, pay and go. If its a bar, go back when they tell you and pick it up...easy.
  11. Catherine did the photoshopping.
  12. Gold bars (bullion to you) usually comes in 1 baht, 5 baht, 10 baht. These usually need to be ordered through whatever Gold shop you choose (maybe 1-2 weeks to receive them). As someone else suggested, always keep the receipts/paperwork on the purchase. At todays prices you are going to pay about 390,000 baht (money) for a 5 baht 9weight) bar. This is the way I buy Gold..2 x 5 baht bars every year since 1993, and will continue to do so. Now worth nearly 12m at todays price. Just something for my daughter.
  13. Same owners. Booking.com and Agoda have never been implicated in scams--they are both easy to book with and have various perks at times. As someone else mentioned booking and paying up front using unverifiable fb, Line etc sites is plain stupid. The OP should have trained his wife better IMHO. An addition and maybe help for some..--for the past few years I personally book hotels in any country on the hotel website, or call. And always book flights direct with the airline, never through travel agents. Any deposits or payments only on Credit card.
  14. Same as this post--definitely uninteresting, and you seem like someone definitely up their own fart shute.
  15. Ah yes the the one on Nth pattaya road..forgot about that one. Anyway my other info might help someone on their travels.
  16. Actually Sukhumvit from Tepprasit to Chaiyapruek only has two bottlenecks on the going South side and none on the going North side, and all the u turn intersections are now clear, so I disagree with the above post about the Makro area. And all the way to Sattahip is very good now (with just one or two flyovers to finish).
  17. The UK has 10x the number of road deaths that Thailand has, with the same population numbers. So the comparison isn't valid. I think you are rather delusional. By your reckoning the UK would have 200,000 road deaths a year. Maybe look at the real stats before posting.
  18. You don't know where Chaiyapruek is in pattaya...amazing. Goes (1&2) from the beach into the boonies.
  19. You have been a member for 14 years and are asking questions about thai gold..that seems weird. Anyway buy at any gold shop, usually bracelets or chains. There is a small difference between buy and sell price. There is no risk of being scammed when buying from the Gold shops (there are thousands of them around Thailand).
  20. Talking about M7 intersection, but show a photo of Chaiyapruek which is Najomtien area (which by the way will be under construction again soon).....
  21. No...only going to Pattaya Nua/Naklua
  22. Looks like you are going to pursue it anyway. Remember you are butting heads with a management company staffed by Thai's...These things never turn out well and have turned ugly in many Condos (and Villages) over the years. Good luck (you'll need it).
  23. As it is not costing the Condo tenants any extra money, then personally I would just leave well enough alone. if you go to the Committee with this, and it turns out one or more of them is in on it, then you are just opening a can of worms. Incidentally most contractors are familiar with this type of "extras" so just leave it alone.
  24. Seen many over the years. Completely agree the above statement. Should be abolished not observed as cultural heritage.
