  1. Actually they do. Have been a few cases of this method over the years. First one I remember was a guy (Wayne T) who had bar on Soi PO in the 80's. And there were others around that time. (The plastic bag over the head and secured around the neck still gives a bit of time to put the handcuffs on behind the back, and then its just a matter of a few minutes).
  2. Once again you are mixing up scams (which of course exist) and online/mobile payments at merchants etc. So I know you won't listen but stop writing rubbish about things you just make up. Most people use a combination of cash and mobile/online payments depending on circumstances. Anyway done with you.
  3. Probably better you don't pry, don't ask questions and leave well enough alone. If your situation in Thailand is legal, then don't worry about others.
  4. If you write stuff like this, you should give us your reasons why, otherwise it's just hearsay on your part. So answer this and the poster above on your reasons for writing this statement. Remember mobile online/QR code/promptpay payments are very safe.
  5. I am wondering how you have met all these people, as you said they have been refused entry. Do you hangout at the land/airport immigration channels chatting up these unfortunate individuals. Your answer will be enlightening I'm sure.
  6. Posts are mixing up 'Bank branches' and 'Immigration offices'.
  7. Wish god wouldn't give us so many gifts.
  8. I am sure many people will thank you for the post and list. BUT the requirements that you listed are really unbelievable just for a 12 mths extension, then of course all the same docs 12 mths later. It's like a list from hell.
  9. Sorry how to select/change to this option. thanks
  10. Actually I do agree with your thinking. There will probably be people looking for physical cards, even though the word 'Digital' should give them a hint. Hopefully these last few posts will help some people.
  11. Yes it is not a well written article (nothing to do with foreigners, visas or immigration). But it is only about the local Thai Citizens Passport Office being more efficient (somehow in conjunction with City Hall) and producing new passport applications and passport renewals in a more timely manner. (When they were in the Avenue venue, their new passport turn around time was excellent, only 2-3 days, so maybe since they moved to Central something has changed. Anyway doesn't really affect us, only if you are waiting for your girlfriend/boyfriend to obtain a passport for travel with you).
  12. There is no arrival card....there is only an online submitted TDAC..once submitted, the info will be available on the IO's terminal once you provide your passport.
  13. Actually there had been a warning the whole day, for vessels not to venture out to sea.
  14. With all the corruption and failed politicans (sic), I think the only sensible choice is to have "Lalisa' as the next PM. Blackpink and few other K-pop groups can be her cabinet. I know a joke, but they would probably do just as well as the current crop.
  15. So amazing to show the faces of 'undercover police'..uncovered more like it.
  16. Pattaya/Banglamung --first appointment must be made in person (not via the Queue app) with current licence and passport. They will give you a paper with the list of what's required on the actual licence renewal day (which is probably 2-3 weeks hence).
  17. Next year in March you can go to the DLT to make your appointment to renew your licence. They will give you a list of requirements to bring for your appt (which is normally 1-3 weeks later). The DLT e learning link is on their list (which I will add on this post for you perusal). Remember renew just after expiry to get an extra year. PS.. This is for Pattaya/Banglamung DLT.
  18. You were issued with a 5 year licence, valid until March 2028. The 2012 date is when you were first issued with a licence in Thailand.
  19. You are correct. The other poster is incorrect. If applying for a new licence or a renewal after expiry of your old licence, then the Theory test with multiple questions is mandatory at the actual DLT office or at an accredited Driving School. The DLT e-learning video is now compulsory and is done online, with a QR code printout after you pass.
  20. My fist has never been the same since🤩
  21. My neighbor (who has an office in Soi Khao Talo) is the agent I was referencing and what I wrote before is correct for Jomtien (even though I don't require these type of services, I have just called her to clarify my post for the sake of this thread). No info for HH or other areas. (there is no hand holding perse, only a 2 minute IO visit to take a photo in front of the RET Ext counter). The applicant personally obtains the Bank letter and statement, produces Passport, signs some forms at her office and PP with one year ext is ready in 2-3 days. (of course re-entry can be obtained at the same time if reqd).
  22. I believe there is one other way to solve your problem. At this time agents in Pattaya (who charge about 8k I think if you have the 800k in the bank) only require you to get a 3 month statement from the bank to renew your Ret extension, plus the usual bank letter showing your 800k balance on that day. (so the actual bankbook /12 month statement is not required). So as you will have the 800k back in your account again, then next Sept/Oct you will be able to obtain the 3 month statement and it should solve your problem. Check this, but I believe I am correct with this information.
