  1. CM Province, but nowhere near the city. About 180kms N/NE of CM
  2. my neck of the woods today is 181, a considerable improvement on the past 3 weeks which have in the high 200' to mid 300's.
  3. I disagree to a point with your interpretation of the sentence as both interpretations are somewhat correct, BUT I also agree that there should have been a comma between holiday & as thus eliminating any confusion as to the exact meaning of the sentence.
  4. actually the aussie embassy now only issues the letters for renewed passports that are sent in the mail. If you collect in person they put a stamp in the old passport confirming that it's a legit passport renewal. At least that's what I was advised by the aussie consulate in CM in February when I enquired, as my passport is due for renewal later this year.
  5. don't agree Nigel. I got mine in BKK in 2014 and all I had to provide was my passport (no copies involved), complete the application form with reason for requiring tax ID, which was to claim tax deducted from bank interest. Tax ID issued on the spot and have been lodging tax refund claims every January since.
  6. still kicking is right and your reply is wrong. Even if you did forget that the bananas were in your carry-on bag, as you claim, your memory would have been jogged when you were completing the arrival card. You obviously answered the question with regards to food as NO. So the treatment you received was what you deserved for FALSELY completing your arrival card.
  7. sorry but I don't see the relevance to your question. The topic is about older people being on a downhill slide physically, and I've suggested a means to slow/reverse that slide. Nothing to do with leading sports performers being young and not old.
  8. It's only reality if you let it be. I'm going to attach a video summary about a guy called Arthur. The full video on You Tube goes for just over an hour, but if you don't find even this summarised video inspirational then you will always have the mindset of your body not being able to do what it could 10-20 years ago. Check out the other videos on You Tube about DDPYOGA and see the results people are getting. DDPY is not just for sportspeople to help them recover from injuries, it is also for every day people who want to avoid what has become the acceptable norm with regards to sore knees etc as we age. I'm 73 and currently suffer from bad ankles, knees, lower back & shoulders and after watching Arthur's story and the documentary "The Resurrection of Jake the Snake" ( wrestling fans will know who this is and who Scott Hall is ) my attitude is if DDPY can get the results it did for these 3 guys ( Arthur, Jake & Scott) then I have to give it a try. I'm not ready to be on that downhill slope just yet.
  9. Visited this temple & skywalk on the way home from Chiang Khong in February. What I've noticed from photo #4 is that the number of people on the skywalk is well in excess of the maximum number permitted at the same time, which is displayed on the safety signage near the skywalk entrance. So perhaps that's why one of the panels broke. As when I visited there was nobody controlling the numbers going onto the skywalk.
  10. once again selective reading in your quotes and definitely you have NOT read every post as teh topic is most definitely which is easiermarriage or retirement extensions and posters were commenting on photol requirements for BOTH types of extension.
  11. selective reading yet again, and posting on that selective reading.
  12. typical reply from you when called out over your selective reading of comments and then posting the sometimes irrelevant comments that you post Go back and read EVERY comment, and if you're as smart as you think you are, you will see that posters have been making comparisons between marriage extension photo requirements AND retirement extension photo requirements. My reply was in response to 1 particular post re CM wherein it was stated that 2 photos were required, with NO mention of whether they were required for marriage or retirement extension. Also you just assumed I was posting about retirement extension. I made NO mention of which type of extension I only required 1 photo for. So you also need to CEASE assuming things and posting comments based on your (in this case WRONG) assumptions.
  13. Dr jack, as usual you only read half teh comments made. The topic is about which is easier, retirement or marriage, and BOTH have been mentioned. So again read ALL the comments before making such uneducated ones yourself.
  14. I wasn't commenting about 90 day reports either, especially as there is now NO paperwork of any kind required by CM for 90 day reports.
  15. or you could open a ttb Non-Fixed account. It pays the same interest rate as their fixed term deposits without the limitations of a fixed term deposit, viz you can make withdrawals at any time and NOT LOSE any interest earned.
  16. I've only ever had to provide 1 photo at CM, and that's attached to the TM7, in the 10 years I've been here.
  17. Only 256. I'm in Fang District CM and this morning's reading is 438.
  18. and mine, and they won't let you unless you're wearing one.
  19. have to disagree with your opinion about mask wearing. Some are wearing because of the pollution, which you made mention of, but many are still wearing them in supermarkets etc because C19 is still out there. My wife and I returned from Pattaya on Sunday, where we did not wear masks, but we did on the plane, and this morning we have both tested positive to C19. The fact that we both started to feel unwell on Sunday would indicate that we came in contact with one or more carriers of C19 whilst in Pattaya, and the majority of people we were in contact with were farangs, who like us did not wear masks. I did not see a single Thai who was not wearing a mask. So IMHO I think you need to reassess your thoughts about mask wearing as C19 is still about and most likely it is farangs who are spreading it.
  20. don't know about the 3 weeks bit for receiving your refund. last year it took 6 months for mine to arrive after receiving a text message advising that the refund had been mailed. This year have already had to request a replacement cheque as original did not arrive after being advised in January that it had been posted. Both of these issues are out of CM revenue Office.
  21. you mustn't get away from the area you live very often. I've seen this in BKK, Pattaya, Phuket, Krabi, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Tak, Phrao, Phayao and other areas and most of them were NOT in their pj's and definitely NOT ladyboys. Some of my wife's bff's NEVER wear a bra.
  22. not true. I've seen plenty of thai women in the shopping center who have been braless. Young & old.
  23. It should be noted that these are only major cities, not rural areas. Where I am the pm2.5 was 246 yesterday & 287 the previous day. After last night's wind and rain it's down to 100
