  1. Imagine all would be fine and those YouTubers would have nothing to complain about. Next thing they would need a real job. The horror!
  2. It would be funny if a feminist would interview those gals with traditional family values. Like: Why don't you go to work and be independent? Why should I do that when I can rely on my husband and who should care for the children?
  3. How would a woman be openly feminist? I see lots of women, and some of them might be feminists, but I wouldn't know about it. I.e. they might have a regular meeting with other women talking about whatever feminists talk about. Normally I won't see that meeting. I guess few women, even if they are feminists, will run around and tell everybody all the time they are feminists.
  4. Give them a toothbrush and lots of time to clean up their own mess.
  5. Why not? Recently I saw an article which described (some) American female students who said they would never want to be approached anywhere, including in a bar or a private party. They only took up online. I find that behavior very strange. People can meet anywhere, maybe they look at each other and maybe they talk. And maybe they realize that both of them want to see more of each other, or maybe they or at least one of them realizes that a few words are enough.
  6. Which person want to talk to YouTubers with cameras anywhere? That is very different than without camera.
  7. I guess lots of Spanish people will ask now if they can have that in writing and signed by "the Brits".
  8. That reminds me when I ordered electronic parts which were shipped from the USA. When I ordered over 50USD the shipment was free so I made sure that I ordered over 50USD - and the shop didn't charge me for shipping. When the parcel arrived in Thailand, I had to pay tax and duty, on the total amount including shipping. The tax office decided what shipping should have cost, a ridiculous amount of money. And then they charged 30% of what I paid for the parts and 30% of the virtual shipping cost. If I wanted my parcel, I had to pay... I have no idea if that happens only in Thailand or all over the world.
  9. I wouldn't like it, but I understand the point of view of the people who work there. Even if the coffee is free for you, it is the same work for them. And a big part of the income of those service people is the service charge. I know about an incident in a luxury hotel in Bangkok where the management wanted to change some conditions for the service charge. The service people threatened to walk out, all of them, right away. The management changed their mind very fast and didn't change anything. I think: Just pay and don't worry about it.
  10. "has reported" is probably the most important part of this. Illegal workers exist since forever. And lots of authorities allowed that to happen - obviously only for some compensation to look in the wrong way. Now, with all those reports about all those bad foreigners, someone has to be seen as doing something. Until everything gets back to normal, and they usual commissions will be paid again. TiT
  11. They all obey the laws, all the time. Didn't you know that?
  12. And do you think the reason for Putin's behavior is who was in the WH?
  13. Please keep your name so that I don't have to add another one to my ignore list. Whatever new version of you will be based on the old version. There is no hope that it will be much different.
  14. I had a couple of sick days off. And I was actually sick. I never called in sick because I wanted a day off. When I visited doctors in Thai hospitals they normally ask if I need a sick leave notice. It seems that attitude depends a lot on the employer and what is usual in those companies. I remember I read a study that lots of people in the German post offices report sick all the time, mostly on Fridays and Mondays. I think if people are not well, for whatever reason, then they should rest and get better. If someone if sick in the office or at a construction site, is that helpful? Or would it be better that they get fit first before they work again?
  15. Selling weapons and buying cheap oil are obviously the priorities of the land of the free. And I am sure the other guy who wants to be POTUS wouldn't be any better.
  16. I think most professional shops don't sell over Lazada or something like that. I think I found "my" Bosch shop by going to the Bosch website and looking for authorized dealers in Thailand. I bought by now at least 6 battery powered Bosch Professional tools from them, plus accessories. Their service is professional - like one would expect from someone who sells tools to professionals. I am sure such professional shops exist for many brands.
  17. Is there something like an exclusive property agent in Thailand who is the only one who sells a property? It seems they exist for new properties but so they also exist for "used" property? When everybody is selling anything then it's not surprising that few of them spend much time on individual properties. They just want to sell something, get a commission, and do the same again. And my point is that with a condominium it is almost impossible not to rely on agents. I am sure with houses there are more things which the seller can do without agents.
  18. It would be interesting to know how many guys who buy a bar in Thailand did ever work in a bar, i.e. as manager, before they did that. How many have experience, even a little, of running a restaurant or bar? It seems many are just regular bar visitors and at some time someone offers them a bar and they think they can make everything better than all the others. And they dream about this successful bar with all those beautiful girls and happy customers and lots of money. And often they think they can run the business by sitting on a bar stool for a couple of hours a night. And then, often sooner than later, they discover that it doesn't work like that...
  19. I know one guy who lived and worked in Thailand with a decent job and salary. And then he retired and bought a bar. And he lost money and later borrowed lots of money and finally sold the bar. He returned bankrupt back to the UK and lives in a home for old man. I am sure he is not the only one.
  20. That might be what you thought, but I never said I bought a kit. I will add you now to my ignore list so that I don't have to read more of your annoying comments. Enjoy your small little world.
  21. I just finished this one. Great book!
  22. Maybe there are lots of factors and sometimes it seems it is not so easy. I bought my condominium in a 30 year old building about 2 years ago. At that time, I looked at maybe 10 similar units in the same building. It seems I was the only one looking. I bought it for a good price. When we went to the land office the building manger told me this was the only transfer of a property in that building within the last year. There are still many units available, for reasonable prices. But almost all of those units have to be renovated. This might be a reason why few people are interested to buy, even if the buying price plus renovation is a lot less than other newer buildings nearby. It seems one reason why people (Thais) buy new is because it is much easier to finance new properties.
  23. Yes, you can do that. And what do they do? Mostly nothing. And all of them want a lot of money for doing almost nothing. A couple of years ago I had to sell a house in Europe. I looked for a qualified property agent company and I found one. They did a lot of work and had lots of people visiting the property, they prepared necessary documents, and and and. I paid them a similar commission what a Thai "agent" wants. The big difference is that they actually worked for the money and sold the house for a good price within 3 months. Looking at posts in this forum and what I hear from other people it is very difficult in Thailand to find qualified property agents who know what they are doing and who actually work actively to sell my/your property.
  24. I start to get annoyed with your ignorant comments. But just to make you happy I just looked it up. I bought a Bosch Cordless hammer drill GBH18V-26F + GDE18V-16FC SET for 26,234 THB. Do I have to look up all the other prices for angle grinder, saws, etc. and post the invoices for you? Or can you try to imagine that you are not the only guy who has some decent tools? Hilti is obviously good. But it's not the only good brand.
  25. I am so sorry that I confused you with an image just somewhere from the internet and not from the company where I bought the tools. If you don't like Bosch Professional products, then I guess you never used them or never looked them up. You could try to inform yourself before you show your ignorance online. Here is the URL from the website of the company where I bought the tools, in Thailand: https://tcltools.com/
