Thanks for your answer. About the drainage pipe. I see two problems with that approach. In my condominium, and I guess in many others, some of my drainage pipes go from my condo through the concrete floor to the ceiling of the unit below me. Or to be more precise, they are hidden under the (tile) ceiling of the unit below. And in my case that unit is currently empty. The building manager agreed to help us and open the condominium below to look. And maybe we can remove a ceiling tile or two or three. But I guess there won't be a big inspection happening in the other person's condo. Some leaks could be just small leaks. Just a few drops, but maybe steady. If we poor water down the drains we won't easily see if maybe 1% of that water is leaking slowly through the pipes or connection of the pipes. And if nobody is watching for some time in the condo below that might cause some bad damage...

Would you relax if your house burns down, maybe with people inside, because of some idiot who didn't know what he was doing? You, or someone who manages the company, has to be very careful when a farang is employed. Because then Thai authorities will likely look at lots of details which they previously ignored. One of those issues is how many Thais are employed. I know a case where a company had 3 farang work permits and at least Thai employees. All was fine until on one of those yearly visa renewals the officer noticed that for the last 12 months there was one month with just 11 Thai employees. One person quit and another was hired two months later. Result: No extension of the visa. That made it necessary that at least one of the farangs had to visit an embassy outside of Thailand and apply for a new visa. Time, money, lots of paperwork...

I am not up to date with this but some time ago I read a lot about buying property and business in Thailand. As far as I remember they described situations like I mentioned above. It has to be the "correct" legal setup to work. I am sure there are some property agents out there who are willing to share their knowledge about this subject.
