crazykopite replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I get registered mail frequently and at the time of writing I have never signed for it when I come home it’s either in the post box or pushed under the gate and sometimes it’s wet go to the local Post office to complain and they just look at you with a blank expression -

Having read all the comments I am alarmed by the hatred towards this guy from foreigners/ex pats I arrived in Thailand when he was PM had he remained in that post we might have been witnessing a Thailand that had gone forward rather than backwards it’s time for the old guard to accept the people’s choice of government.

An abolition of conscription will mean more inequality : Nipit
crazykopite replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Having spent more than 22 years in the U.K. military which during that time spending several years assigned to US Forces in the USA as well as serving with Allied Forces Central Europe unfortunately I had a number of my subordinates Dutch mainly who were conscripted soldiers and I would say 70% didn’t want to be soldiers they were my worst nightmare turning up late for parade refusing to do work assigned to them by doing this they were hoping that they would be kicked out problem was that those personnel who had joined up on there own free will were caught in the middle .If your going to hall conscription it has to be done in one foul swoop not dries and drabs and let’s face it Thailand has not experienced a major conflict just skirmishes with borders Cambodia comes to Mind . By eliminating conscription you end up with a more professional military due to those who want to be a part of the organisation rather than those who detest the idea and picking by straws as apparently happens here in Thailand is absurd if your going to have conscription it has to be for everyone regardless. . By abolishing conscription Thailand will have a far more disciplined and professional military be it Army , Navy or Airforce -
I would think the answer would be yes you could always give your wife your debit card details and get her to clean out your account asap after you pass it appears from what I was told that this is okay to do

The whole thing is a pain in the backside a good friend who passed 18 months ago gave me his Will several years before his death he never mentioned to me that I was his executor so it came as a shock when I opened up his will and read the contents 18 months on and I’m in the process of going to the court it was a simple enough Will everything he owned going to a certain Thai family . In the U.K. if I’m executor of a Will there is no need for me to go to court I just take care of everything myself I was never aware that here in Thailand it’s completely opposite . The one thing I have learnt is that I now leave as little as possible in my Thai bank account because trying to get my deceased money from his bank account is like getting blood out of a stone and this has been going on for months and I’m no nearer to having it released one of the conditions is that they want copies of his late parents death certificates he was 72 when he passed it’s like looking for a needle in a hay stack . At least I was able to give away all his household items TV , scooter, computers , beds , which was a considerable amount in money terms I was unaware that I had to go to court I just gave it to them they to had a copy of the will but as I say when it comes to closing his bank account / financials that’s another matter if I am honest it has been months of misery and I’m no nearer to getting it finalised and all this costs time and money ☹️☹️☹️☹️

Yes since the Russians arrived property rental prices have gone through the roof I am aware of a number of them renting a bundle of properties then subletting them for at least double the price if not more and that’s how they are making there money I would of thought that any income earned would require a work permit . Only time will tell how many of these people end up on overstay Putin will welcome them back with open arms and send them onto the front line to join the Wagner group of mercenaries

Move Forward Party to Submit 45 Bills for Amendments and New Laws

I hope they manage to overcome the unelected house otherwise it’s going to end up same same with the current PM retaining his position . I really hope I’m wrong as I believe MF is good for the country but something tells me it’s going to be an uphill struggle . My main worry is bloodshed on the streets -
Military-backed senators refuse to back MFP form a government
crazykopite replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This was always going to happen they would rather see bloodshed on the streets of Bangkok than let MF take the task of governing Thailand . A very sad day for democracy if this is allowed to happen -

Move Forward Scores Surprise Victory; Pita To Become PM
crazykopite replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If true that’s music to my ears for to long the good folk of Thailand have had to endure a PM who they did not like . What confuses me why it takes so long t announce the winning party as I noted it could take several weeks before ant announcement is this in order to make an attempt to discredit the winning party and possibly bring charges against them. I look forward to seeing a new party taking control along with a new PM but as yet I’m holding my breath as I don’t think it’s going to happen “Out with the old in with the new” -
Thailand’s experiment with weed goes up in smoke
crazykopite replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
In one particular road I know of at least 5 shops that sell weed they are that close to each other it talke less than a minute to go from one shop to another I think it will be very difficult for a newly formed Government to put a stop to it and it will destroy 1,000s of jobs as well as the economy. I don’t do drugs so it won’t effect my life . -
