pay an extremely high sin sod for such a highly prized farm girl, I think you missed the sarcasm intended in my post, but no big deal. The OP is so obviously a troll. If some Thais can find some foreigner either willing or gullible enough to pay sin sod, they will try it on. -
I have not seen liver and bacon on any menus here. Maybe try Bangrak Café? They might be able to do it as a special order if they don't have it on the menu.

Skype is now only doing monthly subscriptions
phetphet replied to stubuzz's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
+1. Only use it two or three times a year for the same. it was useful for that. I always kept a small credit amount topped up on there to cover such times. A subscription is not financially worth it. -
Landslide Buries Workers’ Camp on Koh Samui, Two Missing
phetphet replied to Georgealbert's topic in Koh Samui News
Samui has had some really bad rain over the last few days. Especially Friday and Saturday. Non stop yesterday from around 6am to 9pm. A lot of construction going on on the hills and slopes of the island at the moment. Those worker's camps, usually situated on these muddy slopes are vulnerable to such events. -
i always take a photocopy of my building's Blue Book. It doesn't have my name on it, but has always been accepted for Retirement extensions, and applying for certificate of residence.

Let's face facts. You are 70, so probably only have one or two, maybe five years left on his earth. Riding a young filly might even shorten that time. Is paying US$200,000 to build a home you won't get to live in for too long a good investment? Don't forget that you will also have pay pay an extremely high sin sod for such a highly prized farm girl, plus a new pickup truck for the family. There might even be further loans required once you are "part of said family." It might be best you check your finances can afford it before making such a move. -
Sean "Diddy" Combs Faces Allegations of Drugging and Raping Three Men

If true, maybe he should now change his name again... from Puff Daddy to Poof Daddy. I know. It's not woke. Don't be offended. -
If oyu have any accounts with other banks, it might be worth asking them for a letter or statement. Have you ever applied for a Certificate of Residence from Immigration for buying a car or motorbike? Copy of house book, Passport, copy of passport ID page, copy of visa, etc. I wonder if they would accept a Certificate of Residence from their own department as proof of address.

In a word. No. I can understand Russians moving here with their crypto. (They don't have too many countries that will accept them at the moment due to sanctions, and the blocks on Russian banking makes it difficult to move money. Others will go where the tax on crypto is the least punitive. After all, if you are newly rich on the recent Bitcoin rises, why given the choice, would you move somewhere that will take a large percentage of your profits? Bitcoin is volatile, and you have taken all the risk. Go somewhere that will treat you best.

Do you know what your tyres are telling you ?
phetphet replied to CharlieH's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
i bought a couple of new Dunlop tyres off Lazada because they were cheap. When being fitted, big chunks came off one. The mechanic said they wer four years old, and had become brittle due to the heat. Had four new ones fitted and the mechanic wrote the car mileage (Kms) on a card to give me, and said come back after 10,000kms and we will rotate the tyres. -
WISE....Beware !
phetphet replied to kalasiner's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
It's more likely the timing of your transaction rather than a decline in service. I sometimes get money sent within seconds. Other times can take a day or two. There are threads on here about it, but you would have to figure out the best time for your particular country. Sending money on a Friday (especially in the afternoon) will usually result in a Monday or Tuesday arrival. -
Thai teacher accused of striking boy’s penis with steel ruler
phetphet replied to snoop1130's topic in Eastern Thailand News
So the three year old bruised his own genitals and made up a story about a teacher assaulting him with a steel ruler? -
While there must be some good maths teachers here, the education level in some schools is severely lacking. Our twelve year old has had extra curricular maths lessons since she was six. Below is an example of what she is currently learning:

No. English guy that used to teach Thai in international schools. Used to enter many big Scrabble competitions. Someone will come along with his name. Maybe Rooster? Yes. That was it. The flat of the steel ruler, or the edge? It matters pain wise. Whichever, the teacher needs firing. Sadistic <deleted>.- 69 replies

There used to be a moderator on here that was a scrabble champion. Can't quite remember his name. He used to write a regular article. Seems to have disappeared.

Back in the day, before mobiles, I used to carry all friends and family telephone numbers in my head. Nowadays, although I still remember many, the use of mobile phones negates that use. Also back then, there were always telephone directories in the red boxes. Failing that, directory enquiries. I think that when convenience takes over, be it mobile phones, or calculators, the brain quickly realises some things aren't necessary and adapts accordingly. Thais having calculators handy seems to be one of those things, but it does seem to also show a lack of ability in Maths.

Russian Tourist in Underwear Battles Thai Police in Phuket [video]
phetphet replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
I thought the Thai police had those pitchfork type things that they use to herd unruly prisoners into submission. Maybe he had a few too many, but. after those two New Zealand guys attacking the cop in Phuket, they might want to punish him a bit more severely to discourage it happening again. -
My symptoms of pain - seeking advice .
phetphet replied to Bill Poster's topic in Health and Medicine
Could be sign of a slipped disc, cervical area. I awoke with similar symptoms, all different sorts of pain, numbness, tingling, throbbing, burning. all radiating from right hand index finger, up my arm to my shoulder. The doctor told me he could tell which disc by which finger the pain was starting from. Mine stopped at the neck. Didn't go up to the ear. I was given painkillers and anti inflammatories, but what worked for me were several DRGB's (Dorsal Root Ganglion Blocks). Basically injections of painkiller and steroids right to the site of the ruptured disc. Best see a doctor. Even if a trip involved, because if it is a disc and gets worse, it can be extremely painful. -

Transferring Banking Apps to new phone (2024)
phetphet replied to phetphet's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
UPDATE: So I went to SCB. Was put on the phone to SCB Security. Turns out they don't yet have the facility to do facial scans for passports yet. Their words, not mine. So they had to set up a temporary Facial Scan Exemption. After some security checks I was told it would take between 2 and 24 hours to receive the text. It actually came through in an hour. So all now set up. So it seems as if SCB are a little behind BKK and K- Banks.
