  1. But as happened yesterday, it might not always be the illegals that get hurt or killed.
  2. I had a similar problem with my Smeg oven. There seems to be a shortage of electronic parts after Covid. Have you tried calling Stiebel Eltron and trying to order the part yourself? 3. Thailand will soon have to start building more prisons.
  4. What happens when these other countries retaliate with counter tariffs? It's not as if Europe wants US chlorine washed chicken or additive laced foods and drinks, many of which are banned because of their content.
  5. I was going to explain why Thaksin deserves his medical record privacy, but the way immigration just dishes out our personal data for other to see or collect on the back of reused bits of paper makes me think again.
  6. I wonder what the death toll might be by the end of these operations. Those officials will go in armed, and some of those being sought might not go quietly.
  7. Hospital already have dual pricing: Self Pay price and Medical insurance price. So I wouldn’t be surprised if they also offered a cheaper or discounted price for Thais.
  8. Well that turned out to be my longest wait at Immigration ever. Got there at 12:45 for 13:00 opening. Seen pretty quickly and given a queue number for upstairs. Sat down and waited...and waited and waited. Got seen about 16:20 and there was only one person left when I left at 16:50. Supposed to close at 16:35
  9. Going back to Samui Immigration this afternoon to try again renewing my extension. One thing I found confusing was the wording for how they wanted the papers laid out. Portrait? Vertical? It turns out it's not the passport or the bank passbook, rather they want all the writing to be as one would read a page. So your Passport itself might need to be in portrait OR landscape, depending on how the stamps were entered. Anyway. Below is how the lady downstairs at the Imm. Office arranged all my papers for me to go this afternoon. I know that there is a list of these requirements, but this is the order she put mine in. It might prevent some grumpy interactions for others in the future. 1. TM.7 with photo + copies of Passport pages. 2. TM.8 " " " " " " for my Mutiple Re-entry Permit. 3. Bank Letter. 4. Bank Statement (12 months). (Valid for one week from issue.) 5. Copies all pages of bank Passbook. NOTE: Passbook to be updated on same day as application. 6. Medical Certificate. (Valid for one week from issue.) 7. Copy of House paper: Blue book, yellow book or rental contract. 8. Satellite photo with co-ordinates of house. 9. Hand drawn map. 10. Copy of Notification of Address. Mine is stapled in my passport. 11. Photo showing house and number. 12. Copy of form: Amendment to Criteria and Conditions for Consideration of an Alien's Application for a Temporary Stay in Kingdom (3 pages). All documents to be signed. HTH
  10. How stupid. The idiot taking an elephant to a crowded, noisy fair, If the person who let off the firework knew the elephant was there, then double stupid. Although it seems that the fireworks were planned.
  11. Maybe he has contacts in AIS and the other Thai communication companies that can help him shut the call centres.
  12. I look at it as free air con. Saving me a fortune on my electricity bill compared to other years. Although where I am down south it's nowhere near as cold as someof you guys are getting.
  13. Nothing compared to the numbers doing it at the Full Moon Parties.
  14. Are you drinking the tap water here? It's not the chlorine in it that worries me, but any other pollutants such as chemical or heavy metals that might be there.
  15. I think Thailand is far worse than the west in this case. They put sugar in everything. I have lost count of the amount of times I have sent food or drink back after ordering with no sugar. They just can't help themselves. Those Thai teas are something else.
  16. I think the French catch all term is Maghrebine, for those that come from former French North African colonies. Many came to France in the '60's, but they and their offspring have multiplied and spread all over France now to the point France has the largest muslim population in Europe. Many of their disaffected young men in government housing projects are in criminal gangs. Marseille, the main point for ferries arriving and departing for North Africa has an ongoing drugs war, with these gangs battling and killing each other over "turf". There are many no go areas. They come to Thailand on those criminal profits. Two of them were arrested last year in Phuket for assaulting a Thai if I recall correctly and found to be such gang members. Quite a few in Samui also.
  17. It's not just France. Most European countries (except Hungary) have been ruined by too much illegal immigration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31iVDppkenw
  18. Is it a law that one can't travel with a torn page in passport? Do the immigration officers have any leeway? Seems a bit strong to let him fly all the way from Oz to Thailand and not let him in. The tear must have passed unnoticed when he boarded. The Thais are always stapling bits of paper in ours. I'm always very careful when removing said staples.
  19. I bet most of the fans didn't even know who she was. She does look fit though in those life size cut outs that were outside the phone shops recently. A tea called Thai up the World? Sounds more like an insult. Upi you too.
  20. They didn't say. They just told me that in future I need to make an appointment, and gave me those flyers to give out.
  21. You may say shameful remnant, but I would suggest a necessity. Even more so nowadays. The woke chaining themselves to fences won't deter any foe in any future conflict, and a warrior ethos is what is required in such circumstances
