  1. Hppened last year to me. The Wife took her click for a new rear tyre. Upon returning she took me into town. On the ride there and back my teeth were rattling in my head, and I felt every crease in the road through my spine. When we returned home I checked the pressure................68p.s.i. !!!!!
  2. Firstly, my condolences on your loss, both to you and your Family. My MIL passed away from cancer 4 years ago. It all depends in the end how big the Funeral is. My Wife organised 4 days of prayers with the body interned in the freezer at the house. I believe there were eight Monks a day. A large party afterward which went on for 24 hours. Total cost 200,000 Baht. However, everybody donates what they can as a sign of respect. I have no information regarding insurance in the village. At the end of the day it is all about Face here.
  3. In one, excellent example of simplicity in delineation.......
  4. It would be a boring world if we all followed the same sport. I guess, with afterthought, there is skill in any sport. As for Rugby, if you want to see skill in the game just watch Jonny Wilkinson's career as a kicker. Bearing in mind the ball is egg shaped not round. Watch the drop goal in the last seconds of the World Cup Against Australia in 2003. Gave us a 20:17 win. Brilliant Game.
  5. Same here, I prefer Rugby where a player gets a broken finger, tapes it up, and plays on. Football......A game for gentlemen played by hooligans, Rugby a game for hooligans played by Gentlemen......
  6. Maybe they should spend more time making the water decent in Hua Hin. Several years ago we had the opportunity to switch to Pranburi water, best thing we ever did. Before that we had to backwash the filters every Week !!!! Lost a holiday customer because the water out of the taps was brown. Now Pranburi water read the meter, leave a slip, and we pay at the local seven.
  7. There is always the ubiquitous broken tree branch sticking in the hole. Thai scientists are working hard to breed a luminous one for night time.
  8. George Orwell's 1984 is coming to pass. All governments want a cashless society. Then they will know what you buy, when you buy it, where you buy it, and will probably even control where you spend your money, and how much is available to you. They can also control prices and what you are allowed to buy.
  9. I would guess at Saturday this week, but be careful the paint may still be a bit tacky.....
  10. It is probably pressure from the Thai Tobacco Monopoly to rein everything in so only they will be issued a licence.
  11. Why do these people live in such pig sty's. Have they no self esteem.
  12. I remember he once said that about overstayers too, even announcing there were non left. On another note, I am still bewildered as to how someone can be removed from a high post in immigration only to re-emerge in an even higher post as second in charge of the police force.................little packages wrapped in string maybe..............
  13. After you take delivery please contact me as I have a beautiful seafront mansion for sale in Burkina Faso.......................
  14. I think that they were more likely just cut and dumped. Sort out the locals internet later.
  15. Same as Kwasaki......Woke. As far as I am concerned Woke means to rise from sleep.
  16. The law says alcohol cannot be sold anywhere between 2 and 5 p.m. That includes bars, however, for a small fee the police turn a blind eye. Unless I missed the humour that you are not aware of the afternoons.............????
  17. They are a pain, and the dust from the droppings is not good for your health, How about calling these two.............
  18. I think our village has already implemented this policy a long time ago. The electric goes off on average three times a day, more when it rains.........
  19. Since when have any Thais taken notice of any by-laws. Indiscriminate fly tipping, even next to signs saying 2000 baht fine. village dogs, (and children), running riot all day and night. Half the population will not even hear this announcement, and the other half will ignore it anyway. Too much hot air, and not enough positive action.
  20. Meanwhile the guy on the left is diligently adding to the mess of unsightly cables hanging along the street.......
  21. Look at these two companies. We used them for all our meats, they deliver anywhere in Thailand. Jagota or Foodiva We found that although Foodiva is a smaller company, there meat is good quality. Good Luck.
  22. A friend bought a Geely in Saudi Arabia about 8 years ago. Within a month the door panels rattled, there was a wobble on the steering wheel they could not fix, the window rubbers leaked so there was a lot of wind noise, and it had the get up and go of an asthmatic geriatric camel.
  23. If I remember correctly ( very hard at my age......), when the Government brought in the ban there was a huge outcry that they were discriminating against the poorer people, who had no choice when going to market, etc. The Government backed down, and said, o.k., only a maximum of six, and no sitting on the edges of the pick up. If anyone knows more, please correct me.
