Don't forget he was also instrumental in selling off the Gold reserves to balance the books, and make it look like his policies were working.

Travel liquid restrictions set to be scrapped !
AhFarangJa replied to Social Media's topic in World News
One thing I always found amazing, especially flying out of Heathrow. You stand in a queue and put the liquids in a bag. Then I see security staff removing excess bottles and putting them in a large bin next to them...........just in case it is a bomb............. Yes, I understand that it is the mixing of liquids that make up a device, but you have to question the logic. -
This is The company I used, very professional service, I would recommend them to anyone. Based in Pattaya, not far from Big C. i had an email from VFS on the Friday that my passport had arrived. It was delivered by EMS on the Sunday. Also, good advice re 90 days. I was already registered, but it proved a godsend when the renewal came around.

I have had two Visa cards go missing this year. The first, sent in August never arrived. Contacted the bk who sent another one in September. They told me to expect 6 weeks for delivery. Nothing has arrived. Now they will only send a card by courier, which is going to cost me 38 Pounds Sterling, which I assume will be DHL. When I went to the post office all I got was a blank wall. I am not blaming the Thai post office per se, but it does look like they may be the weak leak in the chain.

Genting Dream cruise liner arrives in Patong for the first time
AhFarangJa replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Ugly monstrosity. I wonder if there is a greenhouse tax on the tickets, as the Governments forced us to pay to fly, and who continue to keep slamming on car consumption. That hulk burns around 30 to 50 Gallons ( 225 litre), an HOUR, or put another way, 150 metric tonnes a day. -
Indonesia clamps down on foreign retirees.
AhFarangJa replied to Lacessit's topic in Indonesia Visa and Immigration
Same here, got the pop up, hit the X at the top, and read the article. I am no techy geek, but am using Chrome on Windows 10 with adblocker. What concerned me in the article is that in 180 days an awful lot of retirees there will be kicked out. The article does however point to the fact that these retirees employ a lot of people, rent a lot of properties, and motor bikes etc. So it may not be viewed as a popular decision. Is the Indonesian government as Authoritarian as here? if so the idea could easily spread to here. -

Sure they will, honest injun................. -
Coward, even allowing for alcohol there is no excuse to beat up a young girl who probably weighs less than a wet tea bag. If she has been unfaithful, or been caught stealing then simply pack her bags and throw her out. That is assuming the house is his. I wonder if she has any brothers......

So true, Last Friday I left the Anan hospital in Surin after a minor operation. My Wife was helping me cross the pedestrian crossing outside. I was obviously hobbling a little, my Wife holding my arm, yet when we managed to get half way across some a**hole raced past at about 90 with no intention of stopping. Needless to say I managed to give him the traditional British salute.

Your essential guide to Thailand’s new driving license points system
AhFarangJa replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Just an easier way for plod to get tea money. Give me 300 baht or you get 2 points deducted.........same old same old, nothing will ever change. -
When will the irony and hypocrisy hit these numbskulls. I see thousands of Baht pass hands every week for the Thai Lottery, which no matter how the Government tries to rename it, is GAMBLING. There is only one reason for this latest draconian law in the Hub of draconian laws. That is to help the BIB replenish funds lost during the Covid idiocy.

Thailand appoints 1st Muslim woman governor in troubled south
AhFarangJa replied to webfact's topic in Southern Thailand News
I assume when you say Asia, you mean only South East, as in Malaysia, Indonesia etc. In which case, seeing where you are based I will defer to your local knowledge. But if you take Asia as a whole, that is a different ball game, even considering Indonesia to be the most populous Muslim nation....
