  1. Look it up on google map and show him. Unless you are going to a 2 star most of the authorized drivers know where the hotels are or will ask someone.
  2. The challenge right now that the world and not just Thailand face is that the U.S. is no longer the powerful country that it was. It is now more of a consumer than a provider. The U.S. has ceded energy power to Russia SA and South America. They are dependent in most things for production from Chinese manufacturers. Example I just bought a camera from AKASO which ways it is an American country. Anyone wants to guess where the camera is made and shipped from? The challenge is that when there is no one in charge or no country standing out people have to make deals with as many countries as they can in case they re the winners. NOTE that it was the city of Bangkok and Moscow this is not a Thai Russian MOU and there is a difference.
  3. I know this is a silly question but why would you not take the BTS. It stops right there.
  4. No but is the one that most here know about
  5. thanks I will stay away frm those beaches HOPE YOU GET BETTER SOON. Let us know what the final outcome is
  6. Problem is that the young people are now the biggest probloem. Take the invincibility of youth, lack of edcuation and the general lack of enforced rules kids don't care. They are not taught being responsible for anything
  7. BOB you miss the point. Fines are not there to make life easy they are there as a deterrent just like prison and jails in the U.S. Look at it this way I agree that 5k is a lot of money, but if I have a choice lose my bike pay a fine or buy and wear a helmet. It becomes a no-brainer. Yes the U.S. has a lot of people in jail but look at the crime rate. Which causes more poverty and misery Dad having to buy a helmet and wear it or losing dad because he had an accident and did not have a helmet? Which one causes more poverty?
  8. Fines are not the answer. I am old enough to remember when Canada adopted the helmet law. Fines were one thing points were another but the best solution was when they confiscated the bikes. The simple solution is to say keys please Thank yo when you get a helmet come to this place with the helmet, your insurance and drivers licence; pay 2000 baht fine and 3000 baht storage fee and get your bike back
  9. I think if this happened to me here, I would see doctors here at one of the better hospitals. as you said it is quicker here. they have a better idea of what to test and as you are fining out can test quicker. Hope you get well What part of Pattaya did you go to. Just so we canstay away from that beach
  10. The problem was that different countries just accepted what they were told. Remember that you are dealing with Thai immigration always better to have everything. Also if using a Thai bank I don't think if you have the bank stuff you need the letter
  11. Is NZ one of the countries allowed and authorized to do letters? Was the letter based on money going into a Thai bank account or one in NZ. If it is based on a Thai account, then they may want to see it to believe it. If NZ then take copies of your monthly statements with you
  12. Agreed, but I am sure they could apply to either the UN or Thai Foreign affairs for refugee status Will they get it doubtful but it could allow them to stay here a couple of extra months or get the UN to have another country take them.
  13. So Thailand has become Russia's Canada. For those too young to remember during the Vietnam war thousands of Americans fled to Canada to avoid the draft. The above posters are correct the only way would be for the Russian government to revoke the passports of all Russians approaching draft age. Then send a list of people that are in Thailand on revoked passports, Not mean you would immediately sent home. Thailand would then have to make the decision on what they are going to do with refugees. One word though that will affect this OIL
  14. I remember that story about the Embassy driver who used to run yellow lights. He did not seem to worry. When we came up to a fresh green light, he slowed down. I asked him why and he said his brother had just got a job driving at a different embassy.
  15. Please keep people informed I have removed yo from my phone and now get my news fro BKK Post it does not have the intrusive <deleted> and seems to have a more stable server.
  16. What browser are you using sometimes that is a mess
  17. I think he is trying to appease the crowd against drunk driving and the wild out-of-control times at Patpong and Kao san as well as the traditional thai people that do not like the water splashing. The big problem is that he is killing the bar business and sending all the bar girls back home.
  18. Songkran has its disadvantages, and it can get out of hand. BUT closing Cowboy, Patpong and NANA as well as all the other bars, is going a little overboard. I am actually none of the power-drinking crowd has caught that, There will still be water fights in designated areas. There will still be the girls with tops so wet you can see their bras. there will not be the girls running around in bikini tops or just their bras or sheer shorts. MOST IMPORTANTLY THERE WILL BE NO ALCOHOL SALES DURING THE SONGKRAN TIME PERIOD. Therefore like I sid ther willbe no NAN plaza no soi Cowboy and no pp as well as any other bars in the Bangkok region. How many of yo guys can go 3 days with no bubbly
  19. Outside bkk say thank you That sound you hear is hundreds of hotel cancelations. Pattaya and areas
  20. It is not the MAGA conservative crowd that wants to make changes hell most conservatives that come here love Cowboy and walking. It is the Left-leaning do-gooders, But either way, if you want to change things then please just change your mind and do not get of the plane or better yet just make your flight to California I still remember the American girls that go t on the stage in 2014 to protest and give support.
  21. The near civil war was in 2010 and did not end in a Coup. It was the battle between red and yellow. People were killed, big investigations were held, and there was even an election after. The protest in 2014 never got to the extent of 2010 because it was not a red yellow but a mix of people on both sides that felt they were being done wrong. If you lived here in 2010 you would know how much tension there was. If you had a red or yellow shirt you did not wear it.
  22. I agree it makes it impossible to use my phone with this program. Hope that you are making money on per clicks
  23. Damn talk about misleading information. I thought walking street and or patpong were opening the doors Just think they could have Accuracy contest Distance Most tikes knocked over Most balls in a time limit Now that competition along with miss pingpong would really attract people
  24. Correct me if my memory is off but was his return part of what cost little sister the premier ship.
  25. Thailand is no different than any other country when it comes to ripping tourists off. It is just they are not that subtle. Pakistan and India are well known for tri-pricing—local pay, foreigner pay, Brit and American pay. As nothing gets done in China without Big Brother knowing this is an attempt to keep the tourism money in the country and not out. I am sure that if Vietnam or India became hot spots for Chinese tourism there would be something about them. Also, remember most Chinese that come here on tour come in very regulated groups.
