  1. Refering to my last comment, the pronblems for both sides, the Thai tax offices and the foreign tax payers are immense. Concerning my last comment, what will they do, if I transfer only a part of my "earnings" abroad to Thailand. Do they, the RD's, reduce the full tax I payed in my home country or only the proportionate part??? If YES, they would not respect my "homeland allowences". Problems, problems ..... problems for the Thai RD !!!! They would be unable to cope with the giant number of problems/questions, I'm afraid of. All the foreign countries have different tax laws.
  2. Thank you, this was very helpful for me, especially the answer to question #15 !
  3. Unscrupulous FB-Zuckerberg is only a money-fisher, nothing else. Many years ago I would like to register, but stopped it immediately, when I saw, what he would like to know about me. I must not worry about abusing my personal details. Most important, I didn't die and I'm still happy without Facebook.
  4. --- and you are not able to read and understand a few sentences
  5. It doesn't matter, if I'm a "quality expat" or not. But I'm sure that I will stay here in the North of Thailand until I close my eyes forever. Once having been in Phuket, Pattaya only for 2 nights, I recognised that I would never return. When we go to Bangkok, then only to see family members of my wife for a very short while. And only on our way to or from a Hua Hin holiday on the beach. An other reason to go to Chiang Mai is seeing doctor specialists, we don't have here in our remote area. Thanks to her mobile, my wife has nearly a daily contact with one of her sisters or her daughter. We enjoy the natural green around us here on a mountain slope. I enjoy the wounderful view on the mountains not fare away of us, when I have my breakfast with German bread . We enjoy the uncredible quiet around us and that our valley is nearly free of (strong) wind. Our dogs can move around without any problems. One of them follows me every day, when I walk to the village (for a good health), already since more than 18 years. We have very good and friendly people as nighbors or in the village. It's so peaceful here. Crime - what is this? It's very relaxing to live here. We don't need a car, my wife uses a motorbike for shopping down in the village or seeing a doctor in the village hospital, 3 friends on the main road or her son in his restaurant. We go to Chiang Mai by the public minibus, when we need specialists in its RAM Hospital or on our way to Hua Hin. When we want special food, i.e. New Zealand Cheese and other things, here not available, we ask people in our village, who go regularly shopping to buy them in Macro, Mae Rim/Chiang Mai for us. We pay them the gasoline, too. Therefore, they and we are "winners". A German bakery in CM sends me my favorite bread. My wife knows how to make delicious jam. She is an excellent cook, too. I don't need restaurants, bars or pubs. So, why should I like to leave our wonderful home and village? We feel happy here.
  6. Where I was exactly 20 years ago? Looking in my diary: - on the toilet for p....g, hoping it would also work 20 years later !
  7. This corrupt "scheme of the Pheu Thai-led government to boost the economy" ??? 😆 The people, who need it, will not buy or spend more money than before. The (maybe) only positive effect would be, that they buy now the products they needed before with this digital wallet: food, clothing etc. By this way they would reduce their personal debts (if at all?). @OneMoreFarang and @ikke1959 already showed us good reasons why it's nearly not feasible. I.e. a giant bureaucratic job with high costs and a very low effect on spending MORE MONEY .... and a surging corruption danger. Therefore, what will be the effect for the "ailing economy" ??
  8. Mister Lister, I'm so sorry for my awful mistake "ASIAN Now". And you think that I didn't read read all threads to the new Tax problem. Maybe. But that is not the problem. It seems that YOU didn't understand my yellow marked text of the DTA between Germany and Thailand. There you can read (quote): "... peonsion and other payments for the past employment .... shell be exempt from tax in the other Contracting State" That means for me, if Thailand does't respect a DTA, then it is disrespecting internation law ! And what should has to be respected in Thailand: international treaties or selfish (Thai) tax law??? Acting against the DTA is breaking international law. If Thailand doesn't respect the DTA, you cannot trust Thailand political and law system in the future. In this case of Thai tax planing, how much has been transfered maybe a problem. There are different ways to do it. When/If my German pension is transfered to Thailand it should be tax-free according to the mentined DTA. BTW, how to improve that I only transfer a part of my German pension? And will it be recognised? The Thai tax-offices will be overextendet with all these complicated rules. Srettha does not yet know how many rocks will fall down on his head and his coalition.
  9. A fine on the driver? No ... on the owner of the car !!!
  10. Most members of ASIAN Now are of the USA or GB and they wright in this forum what they think about the DTA. I've tread the GERMAN DTA(DBA)in the German language, recorded in the Budesgesetzblatt in 1968! The following copy of § 18,2 states it very clearly in German, English and Thai language that German pensins i.e. are not taxable in Thailand. Does the running Thai Government want to break this DTA=DTA ?
  11. If anyone only steps 1mm in direction to the articel 112 of the criminal code the "Constitutional Court" wakes up, considering only the letters of §§'s, but not the content. They don't act as a 3rd power in a state/democracy. They should be sent to London to learn what a "royal democracy" means. There are more states in Europe with the same (good) system. Why does the CC not do the same with coup meakers, some parties etc? The list goes on. They are only concentrated on MFP and their "dangerous" members. Afraid of the future!
  12. ""He shouldn't be within 100 Miles from the White House!" (Biden) I disagree 😢 A orange painted face deserves orange clothes - in New York (not so far away).
  13. When I read Yellowtail's comments, i cannot but think, stupidity never dies in republican/Trump followers.
  14. Not a single word about DTA = Double Tax Agreement is mentioned. What a joke.
  15. Mee to. I don't understand it, but the corrupt officials in the government, in the ........ the list goes on. Be sure, they understand it how it works!
  16. I can understand, that the people here in our mountainous area would like to receive the 10.000 THB. 10k is much more than they are able to earn within 1 month, working 7 days a week! And with family members older than 16 years it would go up. This situation exists in many other parts of Thailand. But they didn't learn and have not been educated to have a look in the future, especially about the economic and budget results for the state. 500 trillion Baht expences. That means 5 trillion THB for 1 year, if the interest rates would only be 1%. But it would be much higher. That would be the result without repaying the loan itself - over many years! This result will have abhorrent consequences for the future. The Thai government would have to save budget money in many other resorts. And that would be in the future, when the social, educational and other important etats have to be managed. Result; cutting the budget in these resorts. The future governments would have to work with this today-"gift" for the people. Srettha also is the finance minister ?, - let me .
  17. Buy an AirAsia-Thailand ticket from CNX to Hua Hin (no stop in BKK). Take a taxi to the Takiaep Beach - but south of the Takiaep mountain. After crossing the river, take any of the streets/sois on the left side which are turning to the breach. There is a (big?) choice of Hotels and guestehouses not far away of the beach or just on the beach. Many BKK-people on the weekends. Otherwise not overcrouded. Only one idea.
  18. If Trump would win the coming presidential election, then the USA is LoS for me = Land of Stupids. That would mean the Amricans like a criminal, liar, unreliable, not intelligent egomaniac with an abhorrent charcter to be on the top of the nation. That says it all. And don't let me talk about the ethics.
  19. What a nonsense ! I seems you have been sleeping for 8 years, when great and highly intelligent Obama was the boss of the White House.
  20. ....... 12° in the Pang Mapha valley of the Mae Hong Son province. We are the winners . Our dogs sleep now on warm towels on our protected entrance. Our young funny dog-darling scratched on the door, and we let him in for sleeping on a warm blanket overnight. Yesterday we didn't react immediately, then he barked ... successfully!
  21. Thaksin was sentenced because of abuse of (economioc) power. A money problem. If Shretta and his minions are not able of reducing the smoke - not by words but in fact - he, too, should be sentenced. The reason for this fine should not be the money, but the danger for the health of millions of people.
  22. Here in Pang Mapha, Mae Hong Son Province, there is no smoke visible - at the moment. Clear blue sky, and I can see the mountains smoke free. But this is normal here at this time of the year. In the past, the smoke started not before the middle of February, in the last years not before middle or to the end of March. And at the end of April, the air started to be clean again. Last year I booked aleady in January a ticket to Hua Hin to escape the smoke season - as usually. The ticket was for March 21, and exactly 1 day before the smoke expandet here in our valley. This year we will leave on 23/3 to Hua Hin. Hopefully at the right time. I'm very curious, if the smoke will be stopped or NOT. Then the time in Hua hin will be a "smoke free time" or a "holiday".
  23. It would be very useful to sort out the foreign criminals - maybe!
