  1. Trump belongs to the same group he wants to be shot. Look at his economic history. Then go on and start with him - no real loss for the USA and the world.
  2. LOS? Many members don't want to confirm it. I guess it depends on where you are living and on yourself. Our village is a VOS = Village of smiles, one of many reasons I feel so well here in the remote North. When I go down to the village all the people - Lisus, teachers, people from shops and the young children etc. on my way down or upwards ever answer with a real smiling, seeing each other. Even the dogs smile at me, when I return from the foodstalls in the village. I recognise their smiling when they wag their tails.
  3. The Thai Baht has lost against the Euro, too, witin the last days, weeks. A very interesting experince on a Krungthai Bank ATM in Soppong: Krungthai Bank – criminal exchange rates – in ATM of Soppong ??? Here in Soppong. Mae Hong Son Province, there is only 1 ATM available, a Krungthai ATM. I used it over more than 17 years with my VISA-Card. Maximum available amount; 20.000 THB. No problem until some months before. Suddenly the ATM showed me, that the VISA-€-exchange rate would not be 38,2 (i.e. The official VISA-exchange rate), but 36,2 for 1 €. Of course, I stopped the ATM because of this uncredible and idiotic exchange rate. Today my son in law went to PAI. He/I got the official €-VISA-Excage-rate of 38,058294... THB for 1 Euro on a KrungSri ATM. And because you can take off a maximum of 30k for the same fee of 220 THB (as for 20k on most of other THAI BANK ATMs). And noW the crazy and (out of my viewpoint) criminal result: to compare it, I have to consider the same amount in THB – to the Krungthai and Krungsri Bank 2 x 30220 THB = 60.400 THB against Krungtai Bank – 3x 20.220 THB = 60660 THB; Result for withdrawing a cash of 60.000 THB (without fees): a) for the Krungtahi Bank here on our ATM i had to pay for 3 x 20220 THB = 60.660THB at a rate of 36,2 for 1 € = 1.675,69 €-. b) if I would take ( the 200 THB lower amount !!!)) of 60.400 THB from the Krungsri-ATM) I had to pay: 60440 / 38,058294... = 1.588,09 €. That is a price-difference of 87,60 €, not jet respecting the differenc of the 200 THB, mentioned before. And now the incredible thing. If you look at he official bankrates of the Krungthai BK ---> 1 € = 37,84.... THB . When you campare this very, very different rates, you ask your self: are there criminals at work on ATMs or is it the bank itself ????? Your experience with this bank, please.

    Bread

Order it directly from the bakery. Then You don't have this problem. As i have written in another thread: Joe's Bakery in CM. Delicious and good quality bread. I guess that is the bread alteady sold out in Rimping, before you go there.
  5. I don't have a daily breakfast in Jo's bakery, because I live 4 hours away of Chiang Mai. But I eate every morgning, I repeat it every morning, 3-4 slices of Jo's dark rye bread since many, many years. That says it all. We have eaten only one time in his bakery. The main reason, we don't have our own car to go there every time we stay in Chiang Mai. As I wrote before, I order a cartoon with ~20 packages and "save" hem for the consumption in the ice-box of our fridge.
  6. If you don't mind .......... . then try: https://josbakery.wordpress.com/ press and open "Home" and then "Find Us" in ---> "We are on the Canal Road about 7 km south of the Samoeng intersection, right behind Wat Thung Rang Raeng on the western side of the canal." You will not be disappointed.
  7. Dear Mr. Surachate Hakparn, congratulation, you are like a diamond within the police. The Thai Police should have more people in their rows with the same good charcter and qualification as you!
  8. Since many, many years I order my dark (healthy) German bread from a German Bakery in Chiang Mai. I enjoy the High quality, excellent service. etc. Google: Jo's Bakery. Because i live 4 hours (by car) away of Chiang Mai I order it by telephone at least 2 days before Saturday (his baking day) and get it delivered very freshly by the public minibius in the late afternoon. In general I order 10 kg (~20 packages with 8-9 slices) and put them in the icebox of our fridge.
  9. SINSOD, a part of the Thai wedding ceremony. But what does it mean? It should show that the husband is rich, has a lot of money. He should show it, so that all the guests should think: oooh, what a rich man, good for the bride (and the family). If true or not, that is not important. The guests should believe it. It's a bragging ceremony, bragging about something what isn't reality. In most cases the money has been borrowed from friends, relatives or the bank. After the marriage it has to be returned, as reported here in some/most cases. When I read about this custom then I ask myself: why don't they put the bride in a showroom of a shop with a tag: 1m, 1.5m, 2m etc. ? If I would be the groom I would buy fake banknotes - 5m ☺️.
  10. I liked the USA very much. But that changed after Trump had been elected as POTUS ( not by the majority of the votes !). It's hard to find words for this abhorrent, hideous character of a so called POTUS. Just until today it's completely impossible for me to understand that such a big number of US people had not been able to recognise the criminal character in the 2016 election .... just until now. Very, very sad. That he can fight against all what shows his shabby character - as in this case -, disappopints me extremely. And I guess not only me. It has a negative reflection on the USA.
  11. I guess, Kavi Ch. got payed by Prayut for writing this nonsense. Spidermike007 explaned it exactly why.
  12. Good luck with this idea, Mr. S., it would be good for Thailand. But when I read your list of your and the former military ministers etc., I recognised - it's impossible. It's the same dream as if I would think to whin the lottery-jackpot. A chance by 1 to more than 100 million and higher.
  13. To say it as you told it to us: GOP-plonkers - "Move along please. Nothing to see here". Other members - like placeholder - explained it why !
  14. The EU would not like to give the UK a "cherry picking" as before. The UK wouldn't get the same preferences as before, I guess. The UK would get the same conditions as all "new" members. All would depend on negotiations.
  15. Can somebody explain it, why this doesn't happen in our poor village in the Mae Hong Son area?
  16. Maybe I would like to buy toilet paper with a Trump picture ... for my bum ????.
  17. Surprise, surprise ! Some readers here are so disappointed that a convicted criminal, Taksin - 74 years old -, was flown by a helicopter to a hospital after a long time of 15 years in "exile". Their main argument: he has been convicted here in Thailand by the military controlled "justice" in 2006.. The ridiculous thing: the military under Prayut made a putsch, an elementary crime in every normal state. Normal justice could not be fulfilled. That means the military putsch-dictator had not to stand for a trial for being convicted. And that's the ridiculous, but serious result. CIVILIANS ARE PUNISHED, CRIMALS OF THE MILITARY not:
  18. Please a photo, but not of the taxi driver ☺️
  19. Has the writer of this article been payed by Prayut ???? ?
  20. They should have sent him home ..... on his scate board, and not by an aeroplane ????.
  21. A typical double standart in Thailand 1. Thaksin was convicted as a criminmal because of corruption etc. That is a fact and the result is okay. ... But not normal in Thailand, because rich people receive a "special" status by the the so called jurisdiction. Thaksin, democraticly elected, fled the country in 2006 after being convicted, because he had ordered to kill ~2.500 people, among them real criminals. At that time in 2006 a military regime controlled the country after a putsch. That included the jurisdiction, the 3rd power in a democracy. 2. Prayut and his minions made a coup in 2014 - a really serious crime against a democratic state and the people. He controll-s/ed all relevant parts and instititions of Thailand by his minions and bootlickers. He also has a lot of blood on his hands. Opponents disappeared under his regime. Really free press a laughing stock, critics suppressed, uncredibly rich (hmmm ... why???) the list goes on. He his a dictator, luckily not in the same ugly stile as Putin, Stalin, Hitler etc. Now what is a typical Thai standard? Both have a criminal record. The difference: the 1rst one fled, the second one has the power as a dictator, not finally convicted by a judge!
  22. I'm driving a hand car-t
  23. Every time, when I go to our public hospital, I cannot but think of Thaksin. I see a lot of poor people with their children, mostly hilltribe people. Thaksin opened the public health insurance for 99% of the Thais. Without this nearly free insurance many Thais, especially the poor, would not be able to be treated in a hospital. Before they didn't have enough cash to pay the invoices of the treatment by a doctor or a hospital. This saved lives and solved health problems of the Thai people. I believe that this is the reason that most of the Thai people love or like him until today. This is in a strong contrast to what the military leaders did after their coup. He gave public health insurance, the military minions bought (useless) submarines. No Thai politician had done this before - respecting the poor people. Thaksin was not free of corruption etc., but this public health insurance was and is a light in the darkness.
  24. Suddenly, together with the deteriorated PT, the putsch general wants a "peaceful" transition of power. He isn't able to respect the voting for the Pita-Party. What a shame .... for the highest court, too.
