This coming from someone who implied they would put someone in hospital if they got sprayed - very mature.........
I have made my point clear so this debate is now over so the best thing you can do now is just run along.

Where did you understand that from?
So because someone squirts you with water you are saying you will beat them up........
or worse in your case.
That's exactly what I'm saying, but beat them up is not the term I would use, a squirt of water is nothing, but soaking someone who is not participating or going about their business is just pure assault especially with ice in the water, or the water being dirty as it sometimes is. So grow up and behave yourself.

You with the confused emo. You are obviously one of the drunken drivers, I hope you die before you harm any innocent person, you deserve it.

what percentage of foreigners are alcoholics?
can it even easily be defined? if you're retired and you dont need to work anymore and you're in a bar all day, is it considered alcoholism?
did meet a thai girl who was dating a foreigner. she said she cut him loose because he had a drug problem.
Being a life long teetotaler I am no expert where alcohol is concerned, but I would say if someone drinks alcohol every day then he has a big problem even if not an actual alcoholic, but he is definitely on the road to it.

I need a police buddy on speed dial incase one day I inch over the limit.
Richard himself bragged on the forum how he calls his police buddy when he's caught driving pissed up.
If you are worried about inching over the limit why not do the sensible thing and just do not drive if you want to drink. How will you feel if one of your family are hit by an over the limit driver?
As for Richard, I just find it hard to believe that he drives as you say pissed up.

Happens often, am always under the limit.
I need to reach out to richard_smith237 though.. he has a police buddy on speed dial that gets him out of DUI situations... i need a police buddy too !
Why do you need a police buddy if you are always under the limit? Anyway, I don't believe what you say about Richard, I have always thought of him as one of the more sensible posters.

Why pick on Songkran or any other busy holiday period?
I live 2 kms from the Number 1 main road in all of Thailand - maybe not the busiest but...
Within 10 kms on this road there are two once-working speed cameras, one on each side of the road
There are also two police stations within 10 kms of each other.
Neither speed camera has been in operation for 5 years
It cannot be anything to do with the cost of fixing them or even installing new ones.
Why? Because my experience with speeding vehicle tells me they would get their money back in two hours!
I have never seen a patrol car doing anything - except attending accidents already happened!
This whole situation repeated just about everywhere in Thailand.
And only talk in all the 22 years I have been in Thailand.
When will it all end - or should I say - BEGIN!
"I have never seen a patrol car doing anything - except attending accidents already happened!"
You will always see at least one parked outside most Highway Patrol stations.

Last minute measures which will not just as every year, work.... But the job is done It is announced and now time to enjoy their holiday.. They really don't care only around Songkran and New Year holidays. Instead of 24/7 365/365 days a year check and fine and educate people how to behave or fine when things are not ok, It is only 10 days a year all the rest of the days people can do as they like..And the judges should give big fines so that people feel it in their wallet. That is the best things to get things done...and not in the wallets of the judges and police of course
Your post is well meaning, but you cannot educate stupid.

When I first heard about Songkran I thought it would be fun to experience it ONE day. I wouldn’t mind joining in for one day and getting wet, but not multiple days on end when you want to just pop to the supermarket.
Do not take part in it at all instead of acting like a stupid school kid.

If I was in Pattaya the guy with that contraption and shooting it over me had better prepare for a stay at the Pattaya Hospital.
I understand you are allowed to hit back in self defense in Thailand especially when it involves two farangs.

Thais - fun, fun, fun
Farangs - whinge, whinge, whinge
Why can't farangs be more like Thais?
Would you really want farangs to be as stupid as Thais? If it was not for the Thai road behavior I would not have to ask this question, and before I start getting described as a Thai basher may I point out that when it comes to honesty and decency I think the Thais would win hands down.

Do you notice these hugs never take on anyone bigger than themselves. Look at the size comparison between the foreigner and the Thais Speaks volumes. Throw the foreigner out.
What's worse, one big overweight foreigner hitting a small Somchai or five Somchai's hitting one foreigner?

And a girl in a bikini is inviting rape?
Yes! That's right, there are probably plenty of rapes in Thailand as there is no prostitution.

Was that in Jomtien soi 5 ? Those waitresses in cheap charlies there are miserable. Lousy service.
No! Cheap Charlies in Soi Bukawo just before the hospital. Worst service I have seen anywhere in Thailand, and I've been here for 20 years. Great pity because the foods really good.

I don't know what it is about the Shinawatras. But they seem to attract both natural and fiscal calamities. Floods and earthquakes. Economic mismanagement and budgetary emergencies. Currency crises. I don't see how the baht isn't at 40 to the US dollar.
It was Prayut and his low IQ's soldiers with their illegal coup in 2014 that caused the Currency crisis which went from about 55 Baht to the GBP to about 38 in the 9 years after being manipulated by the "PM" when he and his soldiers were playing at being politicians and getting very rich at the same time.

What I meant was you are doing two journeys, one from Bangkok to Dubai and one from Dubai to the UK which means that you are paying for two seats where if you were flying direct from Bangkok to the UK you would pay about the same for one seat as two.
