Amongst the poor peasants who constitute my family here, not so much. Small brunch around 1000ish. Long breaks from work in the fields in the heat of the day, say 1200-1500 - mostly sleep & gossip, little or no food. Small dinner at 1800 more or less sharp on time. More work after to close down the chooks et al outside. Everyone slim.

When I first came to Thailand I was going out with an office girl and it was 1200 so she took me in to the back of the office where the staff were having lunch, they were all sharing the food and I keep remembering this fish head on the plate which had it's two eyes staring at me, and yes, they ate it.

I still say cool down..... one day you will get a reaction.

Not if a Thai guy is on his own, although maybe if he has a gun, they are the biggest of cowards who always needs their mates.

I use my bright lights and my horn on trucks, when they are hogging the fast lane on a major highway at 50kph. Usually it works. Sometimes they just ignore it and I have to use the slow lane to go around them.

Using your horn with cars can be dangerous here. I do it rarely. Only when someone does something incredibly dumb and dangerous.

On my motorbike I always pump at anyone coming down the wrong side of the road, that is being dumb and dangerous, they are putting my wellbeing at risk. I was warned in a recent post that some day I will get attacked for doing that. I am not worried about that, a Thai on his own is not going to attack you 99.9% of the time especially if you are a big guy.

You have no experience of "IOs making up their own rules", yet you still accuse them of that?    Very rational.

The few posters who have said that over the years can be, and usually are, wrong and many of them just make up situations or deliberately describe their actual circumstances inaccurately to garner sympathy.  IOs do not need to make up their own rules, they are the ones with the absolute say on who gets stamped into the country, they are given that authority and discretion.

Another one of your nonsense posts, how do you know I have no experience of  "IOs making up their own rules"? I most certainly have, I have even been accused of being on 25 days overstay when doing a 90 day report.

Most people do not need towers anymore so even a breakfast table could be cut down to fit or a flat table bought with enough room.  But perhaps have shophouse build to your specs if you can afford a reasonable priced solid wood unit?  They also have metal move around tables that a lot of people could use with adjustable height.  I use a normal wood table about 76cm high myself, with my arm resting on table from office chair so your 10cm or more lower seems very low indeed.  120x80cm table has plenty of room for 32" monitor/mini computer/printer/scanner/full size video security recorder and power outlets/ keyboard/mouse/ssd external/usb adaptor.  Could still find space for tower if needed.  Sit at angle so under table fully usable for trash/storage/drawers.

I don't use a tower any more, I have an all in one, but the monitor sits about 5 or 6ins to high for my level of vision. I see lots of desk tops on Lazada, but they are all to high.

I will put your post in my "important" part of my browser for future ref. Thanks a lot.

Difficult to be honest to believe that you've ever really liked dogs, as you claim, after a comment like that; dogs are the most humane, loving, and loyal creatures on this planet, and none of them get a choice as to whether or not they become clean, well cared for pets, or have to scavenge to exist as filthy flea bags. As someone that has lived in SE Asia for a long time, it would be nice to think you had a bit more understanding an empathy for the plight of soi dogs

i agree with you, But the odd one or two may attack you for just riding your bicycle, there is no excuse for that so they just have to take the consequences.

Not sure what an "mts" is but in most cases shorter legs can easily be obtained with a saw if you find something you like.

metres. Using a saw was the first thing I thought about but it is not just four legs, my desk does not have any legs, ie the space for the tower.

For in stores Officemate or Homepro (they have websites)

Online: Lazada th or shopee th.

Apart from the children's and very cheap desktops, all the Lazada ones are about 74mts tall. I'm looking for one about 10mts shorter but they seem to be non existent.

@CharlieH gave the perfect answer, but what would you then do if you are then ordered off the aircraft, after making your little scene? In previous posts you have mentioned you sometimes shout at shop and bank staff.

Under ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) and CAAT (Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand) regulations, the cabin have the legal authority to order you off the aircraft.

They have the authority to restrain you. Flight attendants under the permission from the Captain, have the authority to restrain you and arrange for your arrest if you fail to follow instructions.

Adhering to Cabin Crews instructions are a legal requirement, as instructions from flight crew are protected by law and no-one is above the law.

Trust me, you don’t want to be that person that makes that scene with the wrong people on the wrong aircraft.  Aviation law is a serious business and could cause you a world of pain.

"in previous posts you have mentioned you sometimes shout at shop and bank staff." Would you care to elaborate on this? I do not shout at anyone unless i am retaliating for someone shouting at me, and no bank staff have ever shouted at me. I have no intention of making any scene, these overhead lockers are for carry on cases and if I have to move anything to get mine in I will do so within reason.
