  1. I'm not, and none of my Thai friends, family and work colleagues are either ???? Just hoping for him to fade into history ... (or oblivion)
  2. And, it looks like your strings are working independently despite what the inverter settings say ????
  3. If you need to extend your power supply => DVD drive wiring, just buy an extension cable ???? To be honest, at the current we are talking about <0.5mm2 is more than adequate, using bigger is more a matter of mechanical robustness than current carrying capability.
  4. Now, if they were installing brains, I think I could name a few candidates
  5. OK, thinking about it I suspect "parallel" doesn't really do much physically, maybe it just modifies the way the MPPTs track.
  6. Yeah, do try that. If the inputs really are parallel those panels would slug the output of the longer string. I don't really know what "parallel" does, it may not actually connect the strings physically.
  7. Did you tell them it's already set to 0kW (and a photo of the screen)? They might be able to tweek the parameters for you. I've actually found them very helpful once you get the conversation going. Also, any response for your MPPT setting problem? If you really are running those mis-matched strings in parallel you could be losing a lot of generation ???? Also, does the Remote Control option in Solarman Smart work with on-grid inverters?
  8. There is only one thing worse than having no manual. That is having a manual that is wrong!! Part of my real job is validating user manuals; these can be several hundred pages. They are always wrong until at least Rev.C
  9. You definitely need Sofar. That interface is nothing like either of our Sofar inverters.
  10. Is there a "save" button or similar? Certainly with the hybrid pretty much any setting needs a confirm of some sort.
  11. It's great that it's actually working now, albeit with a bit of "creep".
  12. If you go grid-tie or grid-sync hybrid then even one panel and inverter will offset your bill by whatever it generates. If consumption exceeds the solar production your grid will top-up to the actual demand automagically. Are you intending to go "official" or DIY on this installation??
  13. @MJCMsince you've now got contact with Sofar you could ask them how to prevent the meter creeping backwards. To be honest, a 10W creep probably isn't ever going to be noticed by the meter man, he's really only interested in the numbers and any blatant banging the meter in reverse.
  14. I don't think you'll ever achieve exactly zero export, we seem to bumble around 10W either way according to my separate meter (don't trust what the inverter says). There should be a CT calibration setting somewhere so you can tweek what it sees, maybe adjust so you are always importing a tiny amount?
  15. Years back I attended a contract bid-opening meeting, this was for an underground railway. One tunnelling bid was literally half the price of the others. Of course, there was muttering amongst the assembled bidders whose other bids were all in the same ball-park (and close to the contract estimate). The Contract Director quietly whispered (ok a stage-whisper really) to the "winning" bidder's representative "You do realise this is a two-bore tunnel?". Cue a hasty withdrawal of the bid and an embarrassed exit from the room.
  16. If I had a dollar for every basic maths error I've made ...
  17. Aren't the cells 280Ah? So, 280 * 3.2V = 896Wh per cell. * 32 = 28kWh ish. 146,924/28 = 5,300 Baht / kWh.
  18. Use your AC breaker for the AC ???? How do you get the firmware in, our unit has an SD card.
  19. Assume whatever you have to interrupt the AC and DC connections, does your inverter have a big DC switch on the inverter itself?
  20. The courier/post office will tell you what you need to pay, no fines.
  21. I did when I first got the on-grid unit. Follow the instructions exactly. Do NOT try to interrupt the beast, it may take longer than you anticipate. Did they not offer to do the update OTA for you?? People on the Sofar Facebook groups do it all the time seemingly without issues, until ...
  22. Indeed there are. And the person in the OP managed to run out of power AND run out of gas
  23. Time to buy a cheap UPS for your PC methinks, I wouldn't consider running a desktop without one. Here in northern BKK (still PEA area) we certainly get short interruptions all the time, probably caused by poor network switching. Longer outages are usually the result of weather (or a truck taking out the power poles - twice in 5 years). My general rule is that if it's not back on in 10 minutes it's going to be hours. We have solar with battery backup and a genset for when the batteries die.
  24. It's not the Green Line that's in debt really, the debt is the 50 billion (yes, billion) Baht that is currently owed to BTS by BMA/MRTA for operating the extensions. It's all hideously complex and political (and I'm just an engineer).
  25. Spectacles (HS Code 9004.90.0000) are rated as 5% duty on CIF value plus 7%VAT on the total. Clothes are rated as 20% duty on CIF plus 7% VAT. I would send them separately as the duty tends to get charged at the highest applicable rate. Any particular reason you didn't buy the specs here?? Send them by regular post (registered if you want tracking) and they might get through without being assessed.
